Rhædon is the forgotten black sheep of Edan. Separated on land by the deadly-hot Siksithys desert and on the sea by the turbulent and jagged Tenchwin cape, for a long time, Rhædon was utterly isolated. Before airframes and easy flight, it was rare to see a Rhædinan outside of their home country -- the trek was too dangerous to be worth it. However, now that one can bypass the most dangerous parts of the journey, the country is starting to enter the global stage.

Rhædon might not wield the same power as its contemporaries on the continent, but its people are nothing if not determined. In recent years, Rhædon has been reaching across the continent to insert itself into formerly stable trade -- willing to go much lower than competitors to get their foot in the door. They hit a major setback when their staunchest ally was bombed out of existence, but they haven't spent the past forty years doing nothing.

Historically, Rhædon couldn't trade with others and needed to be self-sufficient. As such, much of the population worked in some agrarian field -- farming or ranching. This is no longer true with the world getting smaller as it has been. Businesses span the desert, and young folk migrate towards the rest of the continent, picking up odd jobs along the way. Orgs have moved manufacturing to Rhædon to capitalize on lower wages, and the country has shifted away from its agricultural roots.

Speech Given by Asaid Al-Taiiq at his Inauguration

My people, we are no longer the forgotten nation, lost amidst the Siksithys sands or marooned by the Tenchwin’s cruel waves. For too long, we have been forced to rely on our own blood, sweat, and ingenuity, while the rest of the world traded riches across seas and skies, unburdened by the barriers we endured. But those days of isolation and neglect are over.

The world now sees us as they should: as a rising tide that will not be ignored. Our ancestors turned barren sands into golden harvests, and now we take that same fire, that indomitable spirit, and forge a new destiny for Rhædon! Trade routes will bend to our will, foreign powers will bow to our craft and cunning, and our name will echo from the icy peaks of Austrene to the opulent halls of Calaria. They fear us because they know our strength -- born of hardship and > tempered by resilience -- cannot be denied.

I call upon you to seize what is rightfully ours. Let no rival outbid us, let no border contain us, and let no voice silence the roar of Rhædon. This is our time to expand, to thrive, and to take our place as masters of this continent. We are compelled forward, to greatness and glory! We are compelled forward, as Rhædon rises! *
