Mike:Oh, hey, Josh.
Mike:How's it going?
Josh:I thought to perhaps spare Craig a little bit.
Mike:Unfortunate.
Josh:Yeah, I'm sorry.
Josh:Do I sound fine?
Josh:I'm still concerned that my mic is going to freak out for no reason.
Mike:Hold on a second.
Mike:What the fuck?
Mike:Oh, it's confused.
Josh:Oh, okay.
Mike:Hello?
Josh:Could you hear me before?
Mike:No.
Mike:So I connect to this computer with Bluetooth, but Bluetooth sucks for input.
Mike:So I change it to be wired, and then Discord doesn't like switching the output.
Mike:I don't know.
Mike:I imagine it's still outputting on whatever Bluetooth channel, even though it's off.
Josh:it is crazy to me that you were messing around with audio and not hearing me because you did respond to me when I was talking to you I said something along the lines of I joined so that I could save Craig from your beratement and you said unfortunate
Mike:It just won't switch the output to the fucking wired.
Mike:Wait, what did you say?
Mike:Oh, no, no, that I did hear.
Mike:I turned my Bluetooth off some time in.
Josh:Excuse me, I'm dying.
Josh:Give me a moment.
Josh:Okay, sorry.
Josh:You were saying about Bluetooth?
Mike:Yeah, no, I only turned it off after, like, the first five seconds.
Mike:The first ten seconds.
Josh:Oh, okay.
Josh:So you did actually respond to me when I mentioned... Okay.
Mike:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh:That's fine.
Josh:That's better.
Josh:More people are joining.
Josh:It's crazy.
Noah:Oh, thank you.
Jorge:I like the haircut, Noah.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:He actually just called it different.
Noah:I combed it really hard.
Noah:A lot of hair fell out.
Josh:I mean, it could happen.
Josh:Depends on how far along you are in life, but sometimes you brush your hair and it stays on the brush.
Noah:That would suck.
Noah:One day you have a bunch of hair.
Noah:The next you comb it.
Noah:It just all comes off like a toupee.
Josh:I assume that's what...
Mike:Josh just turns on his camera and he's bald.
Mike:And he's like, hey guys, how's it going?
Noah:Don't be way too hard.
Mike:Then I would say something stupid like, did you comb your hair, Josh?
Mike:I made the ultimate dad joke on Sunday.
Mike:So I went to Hudson Yard's Edge, like the Sky Deck.
Jorge:He's edging.
Josh:Unnecessary.
Mike:I got an
Josh:You don't need to say that anytime anybody says edge.
Mike:I got in the elevator full of dads, and I was like, I'm going to do this right now.
Mike:So the elevator on the way down, and I'm just like, this is going up?
Josh:Why?
Mike:Because people always get in elevators, and they're like, this is going up, and they get confused.
Mike:So to be confused in the most obvious direction the elevator can go.
Mike:All of the dads looked at me, and they smiled.
Mike:They're like, yeah, it was a good one.
Josh:I have a question for you guys.
Mike:No.
Josh:So every once in a while when I'm preparing an encounter for Pathfinder and I see the names of the enemies, I proactively change them because I know you will immediately latch onto it and make fun of them.
Josh:And so I want to know, there is an enemy creature called a bull gay, and I want to know if you guys can be like, you know, adults about it, or if I have to change the name.
Jorge:It's got two great words to make fun of.
Mike:It doesn't even sound like that's an enemy.
Noah:Is this an encounter?
Mike:It sounds like you made up a name that we could make fun of.
Mike:It sounds like it's targeted towards us.
Josh:It's B-U-L dash G-A-E.
Josh:Bulgay.
Mike:It's the French version.
Josh:So, I mean, clearly, I said it out loud in all three of you started laughing, so I have to change it.
Noah:I assume it's an encounter in a cool, mostly men's nightclub.
Josh:Yes, actually, that is what it is.
Josh:You got it.
Mike:Okay.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:That's crazy.
Mike:I'm not going to lie.
Mike:That's crazy.
Josh:It's just what it's called!
Josh:But now it's a different name that you can't make fun of, so we're fine.
Mike:I like compound words that are made up of inappropriate words that you can say in public.
Josh:This isn't a compound word made up of inappropriate words, so...
Mike:It's close, though.
Mike:It's close enough.
Mike:bull gay bull i could say a lot of stuff in public
Josh:okay yeah what what what about what about that can you not say in public if you unhyphenated it okay and yet you just said it i think i'd prefer you didn't
Jorge:Do you guys know the YouTuber?
Noah:the public.
Jorge:I don't know how to say his name out loud.
Jorge:I just found him recently.
Jorge:Stypyro?
Mike:what did he do with the mic oh the macro wave oh I didn't yeah I didn't watch that video
Jorge:I will send you guys... Yeah.
Josh:PyroPyro?
Jorge:Do you know him?
Jorge:Or you just Googled it?
Josh:Yes.
Josh:I know him specifically because of his microwave video.
Jorge:Yes!
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:That was some of the best entertainment I've ever had.
Jorge:Can you link it?
Jorge:I got it, I got it.
Josh:Yeah, the microwave.
Josh:He made a 20,000 watt microwave, which is too many.
Josh:It's unnecessary, I think.
Jorge:So Noah, a typical microwave is 1000.
Jorge:And it is so great.
Noah:I'm going to watch part of this while we wait for Tanner.
Jorge:He could like explode a glass of water, like the water part of it.
Josh:He makes a bit of poison gas from a grape.
Josh:He explodes a light bulb.
Josh:It's a good time.
Mike:My favorite Macrowave video is the scam baiting video where an old lady claimed she was making a Macrowave in her kitchen out of 40 microwaves and then had a program to glitch the Windows desktop while the scammer was on his virtual machine.
Mike:so the the scammer isn't like the the taskbar is like at an angle it's like glitching at an angle and he's like what's going on and the dude with an old lady voice changer is like oh my husband must have turned the macro wave on let me go turn it off and then we'd turn it off and like shut off when everything was glitching the screen it's so dumb actually
Josh:What stream is happening?
Josh:Oh, you're just, okay.
Jorge:This is just a candle.
Jorge:It's plasma.
Noah:Nice.
Noah:Whoa.
Josh:You can do that in a regular microwave.
Josh:You could put a candle in one of those.
Josh:Currently, right now, you could go to your microwave and do that, and it would work.
Jorge:It's not that crazy, though.
Jorge:Like, the grapes aren't this crazy either.
Josh:You get a pretty nifty grape.
Jorge:Or he melts tungsten.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:This is sodium.
Jorge:He just has blocks of sodium.
Jorge:I love this guy.
Jorge:You gotta watch this video.
Jorge:This is so good.
Jorge:Yeah, I don't know how this man is alive.
Josh:He was wearing safety glasses.
Josh:What more do you need?
Josh:Oh, you know what I forgot to do?
Jorge:oh god it's so freaking funny
Josh:I could probably do that now.
Josh:I should update the database so when you guys roll, it doesn't show Vilksnake.
Noah:Yeah.
Mike:I was listening to a macrowave.
Mike:What about my beloved Vilksnake?
Josh:I never bothered to make an interface for the database that the roller queries.
Josh:So I'm just connecting to the instance directly.
Josh:I'm going to run some query, I think, to evict Vilksnake forever, probably.
Mike:That's okay.
Josh:What?
Jorge:Do you mind throwing Levmir into the Bitly map when you also get a chance so I can add some items?
Jorge:Foundry, so I can add some.
Josh:What do you mean, throw him into... What do you mean by that?
Jorge:Lev has Foundry, so I can add items to it.
Jorge:Well, when I open Foundry, it's just the encounter with Divex and Dawn.
Josh:If you go on the right, if you go on the right, there should be in the top right, there's like a little icon of a guy that says actors.
Josh:Are you looking for it, or?
Noah:you you
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Oh, there's a four.
Josh:One second.
Josh:Yeah, click on Actors, then click All Fame.
Josh:Party.
Josh:Current.
Josh:Current.
Jorge:That's dope.
Josh:Current.
Josh:Yeah, but you're looking for Current, and then you gotta click on Lev.
Jorge:Okay.
Mike:Very good rug.
Mike:Nick is here.
Josh:And then if you want to add new items, you go to the box, which is up over there.
Josh:And then whatever kind of item it is, you click the magnifying glass on the right.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:I just might not be able to let me attune to all of them at once, even though I have up to 18.
Josh:You can un... Oh, right.
Jorge:Because I have some of these.
Josh:I mean, try attuning to it anyway.
Josh:What happens when you do it?
Josh:Click the diamond to attune.
Jorge:This should be attuned, right?
Josh:Click the diamond to attune.
Josh:Yeah, do it.
Josh:Just do it with everything.
Jorge:Oh yeah, it still lets me.
Josh:Okay, yeah, so you're fine.
Jorge:I got a lot of just tattoos of resistance.
Jorge:I don't really know what other things to get with 18 entombment slots.
Jorge:I don't really know what I need.
Jorge:Yeah, so I just have three extra 10 resistances.
Noah:So that's a lot of things.
Josh:You don't need to attune 18 things.
Josh:I could give you a ring of investment if that would help.
Josh:It takes up an investment slot, but it grants you an additional investment slot.
Noah:Is that just a ring that takes up an investment slot?
Jorge:Oh, wow.
Jorge:Yeah, that's great.
Mike:Is that an item in Pathfinder that's non-homebrew?
Josh:No, I just made it up.
Mike:Oh.
Josh:It's from a joke in 5e where you could get a ring of attunement that takes up an attunement slot to grant you an attunement slot, except that actually has use because an artificer's AC is dependent on how many items they have attuned.
Mike:That's what I was thinking.
Mike:If that's a real thing, I'm going to dig up some feat that's like you gain damage equal to the number of items you have attuned or something stupid and then just like
Mike:Run around with all the rings.
Mike:Divex with like 80 rings.
Noah:Just die, that's it.
Josh:Thankfully, it's not a thing.
Noah:No fingers.
Noah:They're just rings now.
Noah:That means you have one finger.
Mike:I can't bend them.
Josh:Also, you couldn't do it anyway.
Mike:I can't bend them.
Josh:You have one ring slot.
Mike:Divex.
Noah:You only have one finger.
Mike:Divex with a single finger.
Mike:Which one?
Josh:Despite the number of fingers that Divex may or may not have, the way that attunement works...
Mike:This one's...
Josh:is that you can only attune to an item, sorry, you can only wear an item in a particular slot that it specifies.
Josh:So if it says worn ring, you can only have one item that says worn ring.
Mike:oh so i just need an attunement talisman not warren or not ring no but there's
Josh:Yes.
Josh:You would just have to keep, like, you need a talisman of investment, and then a ring of investment, and a cloak of investment, and a mask of investment.
Josh:You could definitely get, like, of course, then you've used all of your equipment slots for these items, and you don't actually have any items, but, you know, that's on you.
Tanner:I keep track of my equipment.
Jorge:embarrassing.
Jorge:You guys have to use your attunement slots for warm cloaks.
Josh:Oh, I mean...
Josh:Listen, Jorge, once I said that out loud, I remembered that that's a thing, and so now I have to go through all of your items to make sure that you can actually equip all of the things you have attuned.
Josh:So... Whoa.
Mike:There's nothing... They do.
Jorge:Do Aeons?
Josh:Oh.
Jorge:I saw online that Aeons don't stack, but now I'm starting to be worried that they don't.
Josh:Um...
Mike:There's a general warn.
Josh:Yes.
Josh:If it just says worn with no slot, then you can have as many as you like.
Josh:And I think Aeon Stones specify that you can have multiple because you just have them orbiting your head.
Josh:Because they're a little dangerous in that an enemy could just try to attack the stone instead of you and break it.
Noah:One day we'll run into an enemy that has an Aeon Stone and I'm going to spend the entire encounter trying to yoink it off their head.
Jorge:Mine aren't that expensive.
Josh:Unless you have... No, they're not that expensive.
Josh:It's fine.
Josh:And I think if you get a Wayfinder, you can have two and keep it in your pocket and it would still count.
Josh:Someone's got to do it, right?
Tanner:Yeah, do you have to break it or can you like grab it, like disarm it?
Josh:I don't know.
Josh:I know there are one second.
Josh:Let me just read the rules for it because it does specify it.
Mike:Take their lore.
Noah:I take it off their head mid-combat, immediately invest in it, and then just get an Aeon Stone.
Noah:And then we just go back and forth the entire encounter, stealing the Aeon Stone back and forth.
Josh:When you invest... Okay, so usage is worn, so you can have as many as you like.
Josh:When you invest, it orbits your head.
Josh:An orbiting stone can be snatched out of the air with a successful disarm action against you.
Tanner:Let's go.
Josh:Yeah, so somebody could just yoink it out of the air if they wanted to.
Josh:I mean, they'd have to succeed on a disarm, which is not immediately obviously easy, but they could do it.
Josh:I do need, like, another two minutes, because I am prepping an encounter that doesn't involve a Bulgay.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:So...
Tanner:Whoa.
Tanner:Well, I was a little tardy this evening, as you all know.
Tanner:We had my dad over for dinner tonight, and I had the timing all planned out.
Tanner:I was like, we're going to have dinner ready.
Tanner:We're going to eat in time for Dungeons & Dragons.
Tanner:But what I couldn't foretell was that my dad decided to bring ice cream.
Noah:Hmm.
Tanner:And so you have to have the ice cream if the guest brings the ice cream.
Josh:yeah it would be rude not to
Jorge:Was it mint chocolate chip?
Tanner:So then we had a dessert.
Tanner:No, he got two pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Tanner:One was chocolate fudge brownie, which is excellent.
Tanner:And the other one was chocolate chip cookie dough, which is also excellent.
Jorge:Gotcha, gotcha.
Jorge:I just remember you were a fiend for the chocolate chip mint in college.
Tanner:Yeah, I was definitely in a... I still like it.
Tanner:I have more chocolate ice cream nowadays, but yeah.
Noah:Jorge's family.
Jorge:Gotcha.
Tanner:Liz is a big fan of Breyers brand chocolate ice cream.
Tanner:So we always have that stocked.
Jorge:We used to have briars growing up because they were one of the few ones, at least at the time, that didn't use eggs.
Jorge:A lot of them now don't use eggs, but back then, most of them used eggs.
Tanner:That's so interesting.
Jorge:And my sister's allergic to eggs.
Josh:Okay, I was about to ask what is the issue with eggs, but that is reasonable.
Jorge:Yeah, I forgot to mention that part.
Noah:Narnian alien hates chickens.
Jorge:It was so obvious to me.
Noah:They are staunchly anti-chicken.
Tanner:Thank you.
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:The issue with eggs is that they hatch.
Josh:Not true of many eggs.
Noah:Mike, didn't you have like 30 eggs that didn't hatch?
Mike:Keep them around long enough.
Mike:That is true.
Mike:I'm sure they would have hatched if I left them.
Jorge:Josh, so is there something in this world that requires, like a puzzle that requires either daylight or moonlight?
Josh:So I'm confused.
Jorge:Because I made sure to get lanterns.
Jorge:One that does moonlight and one that does daylight just in case that happens.
Jorge:I know we might not run into it, but is there something we passed or something?
Josh:I can honestly say you have already
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:bypassed a dungeon that used daylight heavily.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:It's good to have items like that.
Josh:I don't know if that helps you.
Jorge:I'm still going to keep them.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:It's not going to change anything.
Jorge:There are only a couple hundred gold that I have collectively.
Jorge:I'm still going to keep them, but it's just... These are one of the things I'm like, these are going to be so useless unless they're really useful.
Mike:bypass guys we can't go to all rest there's a dungeon we missed the daylight one time to talk to that fish guy
Josh:Yeah, I mean... Yeah, I...
Noah:The wine one.
Josh:Well, what dungeons have you guys missed that you're aware of?
Jorge:Oh, it's the wine one.
Jorge:Guys, we got to go back.
Josh:See, here's the thing.
Josh:If you go back, now I have to change it, because otherwise I've given you information about the puzzle.
Mike:Well, then we're just not going to go to Auras.
Mike:We will be seeking out the light dungeon.
Mike:It's actually better if you give it to us now before we start heading back.
Josh:No, see...
Jorge:That's...
Josh:Here's the thing.
Josh:If you recall, I did give you guys this warning that once you started your journey into Oresk, it's kind of like this whole point of no return deal.
Jorge:We didn't step out yet, so we were just like, we're still underground, so it should be fine.
Josh:That was serious.
Tanner:What?
Josh:I just... You're in Oresk, though.
Noah:We're still at the edge of it.
Josh:You're doomed once.
Jorge:Yeah, it should be fine, right?
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:I...
Noah:We're good.
Mike:Doomed 1.
Noah:Like, we're only doing one.
Mike:What is... RS is a bunch of wimps, bro.
Noah:So... I thought... I thought we were killing Carp.
Josh:correct oh that's that's
Jorge:So while... So while...
Mike:I thought it would be Doomed 3.
Jorge:Don't give him ideas.
Jorge:So while we're thinking of stuff, by the way, guys, while he's working, what do we want to do next?
Jorge:Are we going to the Dragonheart?
Jorge:Are we going... Are we just going straight to Karkov for once?
Tanner:Bye.
Noah:He'll walk up to Karkov and just punch Karkov and just punch him in the face.
Mike:Well, let's check out Kirov.
Jorge:Okay.
Mike:We'll see if there's a guild where we can hang out.
Jorge:So guys, do you want to?
Jorge:I would like to do this at some point.
Jorge:Depends on when.
Jorge:Would you guys like to go to the old vampire keep that Lev trained in?
Tanner:And you look to them.
Noah:Are we going there?
Noah:Yeah, is there a vampire?
Jorge:Because we're not going to try to fight them, but we want to descend into the mines to find Nox's body and or get Nox blood or, you know.
Tanner:The friends?
Mike:That's where I thought you were going.
Noah:Wait, there's a vampire, don't you... Is there a plague going on right now that Henrik...
Jorge:Oh, you thought that?
Jorge:Dope.
Jorge:Awesome.
Jorge:We'll do it on the way.
Tanner:The Oreskians are definitely there.
Tanner:I mean, the Oreskians are... I don't think it's just going to be the vampires there.
Josh:I am ready.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Oh, we could settle this id game.
Noah:Backstory needed to settle.
Jorge:Which we actually, we need to go, you're right, we need to go to Nox for that.
Jorge:You're right.
Tanner:It is related to Nox's blood, yeah.
Jorge:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tanner:It's like Beast Plague, but for Nox.
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Tanner:Kind of.
Jorge:Excellent.
Josh:I just need a little bit of time to download on that.
Jorge:Cool.
Josh:So I don't know, have any of you read through War of Immortals yet?
Josh:You have, okay.
Jorge:Did you send it?
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Oh, you did.
Josh:I did.
Josh:The reason I thought of it when one of you said Doomed 1, why not Doomed 3?
Josh:It's because mythic characters are hard to kill.
Josh:when you get knocked down unconscious and then hit dying 4, if you're a mythic character, instead of dying, what happens is you actually stabilize and your doomed condition increases by 1.
Josh:And your character can't actually die unless you hit doomed 4.
Josh:Which is crazy.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:I don't know when you would ever actually successfully kill a PC like that.
Josh:Yes.
Tanner:What makes you a mythic character?
Josh:You are granted a mythic feat.
Tanner:So as long as you have any mythic feat.
Jorge:We don't have one yet, right?
Tanner:But there's some low-level ones, aren't there low-level ones?
Josh:Yes, no, you are expected, like, the rulebook says it's expected you get a mythic feat at, like, level one or two.
Noah:Oh.
Josh:Like, as a mythic campaign, it's not for expanding gameplay past level 20.
Josh:It is instead for, I want to build a strong character now.
Josh:They're also weird.
Josh:Like, so you get mythic feats from 1 up to level 12, which are just, like, bonuses that you get that you can spend mythic points on, which are an upgraded version of hero point that you get if you have a mythic feat.
Jorge:Mm-hmm.
Josh:Which, by the way, if you get a mythic feat, you start every session with 3 hero points.
Tanner:Let's go.
Josh:That's just part of it.
Josh:Also, you get, if you defeat a mythic enemy, which is an enemy with mythic feats, you get two hero points, and everybody else in your party gets a hero point.
Josh:Also, at level 12, you get a calling, which gives you an additional power you can use, opens up a new feat tree that you can invest into.
Josh:and gives you an action where every time you do it, you get a hero point.
Josh:Like, every time you tumble, or every time you escape a grapple, you just get a hero point.
Josh:Which is all neat.
Josh:The level 12 callings, though, are weird.
Josh:They are very specific.
Josh:Like, at level 12, you can choose to be the guy that replaces one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Josh:That's just one of the options.
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:You have to specify if you want War, death, pestilence, or the other one, which I don't remember.
Jorge:Payment.
Josh:Famine.
Josh:There you go.
Josh:You have to pick.
Josh:They're all very specific.
Josh:There's no generic calling.
Josh:It's like, I specifically want to be the guy that overthrows dictators.
Josh:That's my thing now.
Josh:I'm going to become immortal, and I'm going to murder dictators.
Josh:That's my whole deal.
Josh:Or, I want to be an archdevil.
Josh:I would like to be one.
Josh:That's what I'm working for.
Josh:When I hit level 20, my feet has become an archfiend.
Josh:That's just what happens.
Josh:It's weird.
Noah:I haven't gotten that far yet.
Noah:I just finished the archetypes and stuff.
Tanner:Oh, that's what I was planning on looking to.
Josh:I jumped to the mythic bits.
Josh:I have not read the animist or the exemplar yet, but I've heard good things about both of them.
Noah:They are both really, really cool classes.
Noah:One of the exemplar feats is you just get to throw stuff.
Noah:Like, any weapon gets the thrown trait.
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:What is the conceptual idea behind the exemplar?
Noah:You know Maui from Moana?
Tanner:Yeah.
Noah:It's him.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:Maybe.
Mike:Or the Lorax.
Noah:The Lorax is more unanimous.
Mike:Oh.
Jorge:Are we going to be able to get Mythic Feats here, or do we have to wait for next week?
Josh:Who knows?
Josh:You have to wait for your GM to approve it.
Josh:Also, mythic feats are incompatible with the free archetype rule.
Josh:In that...
Tanner:In what way
Josh:they fill your free archetype slot.
Jorge:Are there any ones around vampires?
Josh:I don't remember there being one, but that doesn't mean there isn't.
Noah:people.
Josh:I can pull up the list.
Josh:I have it, one second.
Josh:No, why am I going to my thumb?
Josh:I sent it in Discord.
Josh:So... Oh, but the reason I had originally brought it up is because...
Josh:Paizo in this as part of the metaphor, sorry, as part of the mythic feats and all that kind of stuff.
Josh:What happened?
Josh:What did I miss?
Tanner:Uh, nothing.
Mike:Explain it.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:I have a question, but Mike isn't letting me ask it.
Mike:I'm just sitting here innocently drinking my whatever this is.
Jorge:I don't trust anything Mike says if he says he's innocent.
Josh:I apologize on his behalf, Tanner.
Josh:What were you going to ask?
Josh:Sorry.
Tanner:So, you say that they're incompatible.
Tanner:Does that mean, like...
Tanner:At a certain level, can I not pick to take one or the other?
Tanner:Or is it like at the beginning you have to pick?
Josh:The expectation is that if you get mythic feats, it will, like, every time you get a free archetype, you will take a mythic feat.
Josh:So incompatible in that it uses the free archetype slots that you would otherwise use for archetypes.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:Hmm.
Josh:I think in theory you could mix and match if you wanted.
Josh:I just think you miss out on... You have less feats then to go into archetypes or you have less feats to go into mythic stuff.
Mike:Unless you just dip your toes in to an archetype.
Josh:Unless you just dip your toes in.
Josh:Because honestly, you get some benefits for just becoming mythic.
Josh:Which I don't know if we'll necessarily carry those straight over.
Josh:Like, I'm not doing the if you get a mythic feat, you instantly start every session with three hero points.
Josh:Because that's goofy.
Josh:But... Let's see.
Josh:Okay, so the...
Jorge:I mean, that makes sense if you don't do the rolling ones or every hour one.
Jorge:They're like, yeah, DMs aren't going to do it.
Jorge:Just give them the three now.
Josh:There are a few ways to get hero points at that point.
Josh:Sorry, they're not called hero points anymore.
Josh:Once you become mythic, they're mythic points.
Jorge:Hell yeah.
Josh:So the callings available are Apocalypse Rider, which is if you want to be the guy that replaces one of the death people, Archfiend, Ascended Celestial, Beast Lord, Broken Chain, Eternal Legend, Godling, Prophecy to Monarch, and Wild Spell.
Noah:Okay.
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:No vampire.
Jorge:There's got to be one that you could freshen up as a vampire.
Jorge:That doesn't matter.
Jorge:I'm not doing this now.
Josh:Probably the monarch.
Jorge:I control death, and there's vampires mentioned throughout.
Josh:Either way.
Mike:We'll have a good vampire mention.
Jorge:But there's too much reading.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:you
Jorge:Ones in the New Immortals and stuff like that.
Josh:Yeah, I mean, there's lore implications in this book that doesn't actually matter because we don't play in Calaria.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Either way, the reason that I brought it up in the first place is actually because Paizo had come up with a rule for making re-rolling dice with hero points feel better than what the current rule is.
Josh:That is perhaps a half-step between the existing rule and our homebrew that I think I'm going to try out.
Josh:The way that rerolling a check with a mythic point instead of a hero point is when you reroll the check, you gain mythic proficiency in the skill.
Josh:which is one step above legendary.
Josh:So your proficiency becomes 10 plus your level plus whatever bonus the ability gives you instead of what your normal roll is.
Josh:But then you just roll it as normal and whatever you get is the value.
Tanner:Yeah.
Jorge:Wait, sorry, can you repeat that?
Josh:When you re-roll Spending a Hero Point, your proficiency modifier becomes 10 plus your level plus whatever stat is associated with the ability.
Jorge:OK.
Noah:Hello.
Jorge:OK, so let's say I have my diplomacy right now.
Jorge:I'm a master in it.
Josh:If you're a master, then you'd add four.
Jorge:So if it's 30 now, it just becomes 34.
Jorge:So it's just adding your proficiency to it.
Jorge:The 10 and all that level ends up getting canceled out.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:It just bumps your proficiency up to one step above legendary for the sake of that roll.
Jorge:Oh, so it just doubles your proficiency for that, right?
Jorge:Or no?
Josh:It does not.
Josh:It sets your proficiency equal to 10 plus the ability plus your level.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Gotcha, gotcha.
Josh:Instead of, if you're a master, it would be 6 plus your level plus the ability.
Jorge:Gotcha, gotcha.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:Which, I think we will try that, just because it's been published by PyZone.
Jorge:Boo.
Jorge:Josh is better than Paizo.
Jorge:Boo.
Josh:No, I'm just...
Josh:I've just given you something that is objectively very good, and I'm now reeling it in a little bit, is what's happening.
Jorge:Yeah, that's fine.
Noah:Ooh.
Jorge:That's okay.
Noah:5,000 items.
Jorge:I got some items to reel it in anyway.
Jorge:Or to the opposite of reel it in.
Josh:Oh.
Jorge:To let it out.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Sure.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:He bought a fishing pole.
Jorge:I got fortune coins.
Jorge:I have two of them.
Noah:Oh, there's now a battle fishing pole.
Josh:Yeah, did you say he got a fishing pole because the iconic weapon of War of Immortals is the combat fishing pole?
Mike:No, he said he was reeling it in.
Noah:Oh, now there's a combat fishing pole, which is pretty good, actually.
Mike:They really want you to reel it in then.
Josh:Who doesn't like a good combat fishing pole?
Jorge:Yeah, I got, by the way, guys, fortune coins, the item, kind of dope.
Jorge:I have two of them.
Mike:Is Harry Potter a mythic?
Josh:No.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Harry Potter is a children's book protagonist in the real world.
Jorge:Oh, you know...
Mike:No, I know, but because like when he's in the first book, he's like small.
Mike:He's not like an insane wizard, but he's like of stuff of legend.
Mike:He's not high level, but he's stuff of legend.
Mike:So he'd be a mythic.
Josh:Yeah, actually, no, that is a good point.
Josh:I thought you were going to let me use this as a chance to complain about the fact that throughout seven books, Harry learns effectively one spell and manages to defeat the bad guy with it.
Tanner:No, he masters the one.
Mike:No, that just bolsters the point.
Mike:He's a mythic.
Tanner:He casts all kind of spells.
Josh:He masters the... He casts Expelliarmus and no other spells.
Tanner:He stupefies that one time.
Noah:You got anything?
Josh:Expelliarmus.
Josh:What?
Tanner:He stupefies that one time.
Jorge:Patronus.
Josh:Yeah, I said the Patronus.
Josh:I will give you the Patronus.
Mike:He drinks Patron.
Josh:He doesn't drink Patron.
Josh:He... It takes until like the fourth book when he's allowed to drink and it's only ever beer.
Mike:He gets hammered with a deer in the forest.
Josh:So...
Jorge:Yeah, one quick thing, though, Josh.
Jorge:Unfortunately, we can't do that Paizo rule because we're not mythic, so we don't have mythic points.
Jorge:We just have hero points.
Josh:You're right.
Josh:I'm sorry.
Josh:I will take it back.
Josh:You only have hero points.
Josh:When you re-roll, you just roll it again and take whatever the second value is.
Jorge:No, I love the mythic points.
Jorge:We're so great.
Noah:Wait, wait.
Jorge:There's mythic.
Jorge:We are demigods anyway.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:So I googled, how many times does Harry cast a spell in the books?
Noah:And you know that little, like, Google search at the top?
Tanner:He cast that cutty, slicey spell in Half-Blood Prince.
Noah:Which I assume Jorge is personally responsible for.
Noah:Harry casts spells many times throughout the book series.
Mike:How many?
Mike:How many?
Noah:Expelliarmus, one of Harry's shared spells.
Noah:Other spells.
Noah:Harry casts other spells.
Josh:That's true.
Josh:He does.
Josh:Once.
Josh:Maybe.
Josh:Septimsempra.
Josh:He does it once and then never does it again.
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah, I don't know why he tested out a spell that was explicitly labeled as dangerous on a person like the first time he casts it.
Tanner:Well, it was very, like...
Tanner:mentally scarring for him and physically scarring for the recipient because he's he's flawed josh because he's got flaws
Noah:This kid is not smart.
Mike:Wait, I'm seeing 39 different spells.
Josh:He's a dumb jock.
Jorge:He is.
Josh:He goes to school.
Josh:He plays sports.
Jorge:With a trust fund.
Josh:He graduates.
Josh:He becomes a cop.
Jorge:He's a dumb jock with a trust fund.
Josh:Yes.
Josh:He's a dumb jock with a trust fund who becomes a cop after high school.
Josh:Doesn't go to college.
Mike:And 108 castings.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Yeah, but are the majority of them Expelliarmus?
Noah:It does do Once
Mike:No.
Josh:In the movies, though?
Tanner:There's some Lumos.
Tanner:Oh, he cast Lumos.
Josh:There is Lumos.
Josh:He does cast Lumos.
Tanner:Lumos.
Mike:Akio.
Josh:He Accios once, one time.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:He Accios his broom from across the world and then doesn't cast it again.
Tanner:Accio Firebolt!
Mike:Nox.
Josh:Knox?
Mike:Reparo.
Josh:No, Hermione casts that.
Josh:He tries to cast it and fails.
Josh:It's on his glasses.
Mike:It was in the epilogue.
Tanner:Unless he does it some other time.
Josh:Maybe.
Josh:I mean, I very recently re-read the books.
Tanner:Oh, you did?
Tanner:That's fine.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:It's a Halloween tradition.
Josh:Every October.
Tanner:You read all of the Harry Potter books.
Josh:Yeah, it takes like three days.
Josh:They're not dense reads.
Tanner:Yeah, but Order of the Phoenix is like 800 pages.
Josh:It's 800 pages, but it's big.
Tanner:Um...
Josh:Like, the book is physically large, and the font is big inside of it.
Tanner:So you guys familiar with summer reading like from elementary school or whatever?
Mike:Gross.
Tanner:There was I think it was going into fifth grade, maybe going into sixth grade.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:There was like one required book and then one like there was like a large list you could choose from.
Tanner:And the Harry Potter books were on it.
Tanner:And I had like just started Order of the Phoenix.
Tanner:So I was like, oh, well, I'm reading this anyway.
Josh:Oh, no.
Tanner:I might as well use this as my summer reading book.
Tanner:And so I got to page 600 out of 830 or something.
Tanner:And then I go, all right, I should look at what the assignment is going to be for this.
Tanner:The assignment was to make a book log every 25 pages.
Tanner:The expectation being that most kids were reading 150, maybe 200, and I was already 600 pages in.
Tanner:So I had to go back and skim through every 25 pages and make a log, and I had stapled three pieces of loose leaf to the one piece of yellow paper that they had given.
Tanner:It was brutal.
Josh:I could assign reading to you if you like.
Noah:I feel like we do so much extra reading trying to min-max ourselves.
Jorge:God, I'm so happy to be out of school.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:I'm a reading.
Jorge:I can do what I did in school and not do it.
Noah:Yeah.
Josh:Speaking of, do we want to play some Pathfinder?
Tanner:Sure.
Josh:That's good.
Josh:Would anybody like to do a recap?
Josh:Noah's got it.
Tanner:Give it to this guy.
Tanner:I like his gutso.
Tanner:Gusto.
Noah:Let me get ready.
Tanner:Excuse me.
Jorge:the door.
Noah:First, we built a bomb.
Noah:I don't know if anything happened before that.
Noah:Oh, no, we went and talked to the elders.
Noah:We chatted them up for a little bit.
Noah:We walked away with them being like, they're nice guys.
Noah:They're pretty cool.
Noah:We hung out for a little bit, made some bombs, did a couple other things, relaxed.
Noah:And then we flawlessly stole the orb from a Giant illithid face.
Noah:Terrifying.
Noah:Basically making an elder brain.
Noah:Turns out, he wasn't being held captive.
Noah:He really wanted to be there, and in fact, was running the show.
Noah:We went, sorry, in too deep, and then ran for it.
Noah:Spent a few days in the tunnels.
Noah:And then we were like, maybe we should talk to this guy.
Noah:Had a very nice conversation with him.
Noah:Don't really agree with all his stuff, but we're kind of aligned now.
Noah:I guess we have an alliance, maybe.
Noah:And then he was like, I take my leave!
Noah:And floated back through the tunnels.
Josh:Yep, that's accurate.
Noah:And then we all were doomed one.
Mike:Not because of him.
Jorge:You forgot about Lev's really good rumors.
Josh:No.
Josh:Lev did do very good construction rivers.
Noah:Oh, right.
Noah:Right, they were doing construction, I heard.
Josh:That is true.
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:What's funny is I'm pretty sure we were technically still disguised when we met the guy.
Josh:Were you maintaining your disguises for the three... Oh, no, you redid the disguise before you let him out of the box.
Jorge:Every time he came out?
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:So we made jokes like he doesn't know we've talked to him before or we talked to those chairs.
Jorge:We kind of mentioned it, but he doesn't know who.
Jorge:He probably put together.
Jorge:Honestly, we can still go up to anyone there and be like, we need to speak and say some stuff.
Jorge:But it's still funny.
Noah:We cannot be aware of those.
Tanner:Honestly, I can see that making it harder for us to get an audience than easier.
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:He's going to Beast.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:I don't see how it could possibly make it easier that he doesn't know your faces.
Jorge:No.
Josh:I don't know if he has any reason to double-cross you.
Jorge:But it is harder for him to double cross us because he doesn't know who he's double crossing.
Josh:Yeah, he is.
Josh:He actually, when he started floating away, he floated in the direction of Beast.
Noah:Oh, God.
Noah:We were like, you can't do this.
Noah:And he was like, actually, I'm going to go do this.
Noah:He was like, I don't care about anyone else.
Noah:I'm going to control the universe.
Josh:Listen, one guy expresses his desire to rule the universe, and then all of a sudden everybody's like, oh no, that's bad.
Josh:You guys can't be pleased.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Gosh, I can be pleased.
Mike:Correct.
Tanner:That's just not the way.
Josh:If that doesn't please you, what will, you know?
Josh:Is that not a happy ending?
Noah:Happy ending.
Josh:Either way, we all start with hero points, except for Nova, who starts with two.
Josh:Yeah, so we begin, yes.
Tanner:I'd like to use my hero point to end the doom condition on myself.
Josh:That is not a thing the hero point can be used for, unfortunately.
Tanner:Alright, I'd like to use my mythic point to do it.
Jorge:Hang out.
Josh:Also not a thing a mythic point can be used for without the correct feat.
Mike:I would like to use my mythic point to increase Henrik's doomed condition.
Josh:I will allow it.
Tanner:I look very nervous.
Josh:So, Henrik is doomed, too.
Josh:Everybody else is still doomed, but you didn't transfer the doomed condition.
Mike:Oh, no.
Josh:You just made it worse.
Mike:I would be upset if... Yeah, no.
Noah:Okay.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Excuse me.
Josh:Alrighty.
Josh:So, we begin today's session.
Josh:I apologize.
Josh:I'm going to be coughing a bunch.
Josh:My body has decided to kill me.
Josh:We begin today's session with all of you underground.
Josh:traversing through perhaps a less intense part of the hollow than your previous experience with it, underneath the mountain range that forms the western border of Oresk.
Noah:you you
Josh:You could tell when you actually physically crossed the border and entered into the Nexus of Decay by this tingling sensation that I think...
Josh:All of you would be familiar with, because you're all from Uresk, in some form or another.
Josh:Yes, the terrorism has nothing to do with this particular condition, but you are all rescue terrorists, yes.
Jorge:And terrorists.
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:That said, you are in this tunnel, continuing on your trek.
Josh:Is there anything in particular you guys wanted to take care of while you...
Josh:journey uh towards your destination uh sure i need to pull it up how do i
Jorge:Do you mind showing us the map over here?
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:I like the sound that makes.
Josh:You are currently there.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:If you can see my cursor.
Tanner:Yes.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:You've been traveling from just slightly south of Lanrude this way, and you've just crossed underneath the mountains.
Jorge:OK, so we're not out.
Jorge:We're still underground, right?
Josh:Yes, you are.
Josh:You still have a little bit of journey, because you have to get to...
Jorge:All right, let's keep going.
Josh:Yeah, you just have to get to the other end of the mountain range before you can actually surface.
Josh:Unless you were trying to surface at the top of the peak of the mountains.
Josh:Which I didn't think was the case.
Jorge:No, that's all right.
Noah:Thanks.
Jorge:So do you mind showing us where the keep is?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I clicked, and it made everything go away.
Josh:So you just passed... You're passing under here.
Josh:This is where the keep is, because this dot is the Kearney Prison outpost, which is right next to, as you're familiar with, the Umber Holt, maybe?
Josh:I have to double-check what it's actually called.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:Is it Umber Holt?
Jorge:I believe so.
Jorge:And the seat of the family?
Jorge:That's my family?
Josh:Or is... Or is Skopka?
Josh:Yes.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:Oresk, but Alka at the end of it.
Jorge:Cool, cool, cool.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:So do you guys want to go visit it?
Jorge:I think it'd be great to find out some more information on the Mother of Darkness.
Noah:you you
Tanner:Where do you stand with these folks?
Tanner:You're from there?
Jorge:Yeah, I kind of left.
Jorge:When you're not directly part of the family anymore, you kind of lose.
Tanner:On what terms did you leave?
Jorge:They could put contracts out to have you murdered.
Noah:You left on bad terms.
Jorge:I don't know if they directly want to murder me, but it could be on the table.
Tanner:They want to murder you.
Noah:Bad terms.
Noah:So if we walk in, are we walking into a bad situation?
Jorge:Josh, is it on-site if they see him?
Josh:Absolutely.
Jorge:I don't know if it's on-site.
Jorge:I would assume it might be.
Jorge:It depends on what the... So, you know, me and my sire, we left.
Jorge:It's fine.
Jorge:But the other problem is the actual, you know, where Knox is, is not in the keep.
Jorge:It's in the mines.
Tanner:Do we have to enter the keep to get to the mines?
Josh:So I double-checked.
Josh:It is Umberville Holt.
Jorge:umberville
Josh:And Lev, you would know that Umberville is built on top of the primary mine that goes to where Knox is located.
Josh:You would also be aware, due to interactions with the Ereskian government earlier in your life, that there are other entrances, but all known entrances into the mine system are either managed by the Oreskalka Cabal or by the Ereskian government.
Tanner:Now I have a question.
Tanner:Mines exist under the ground.
Josh:Yes.
Tanner:We are currently under the ground.
Josh:Yes?
Tanner:Could we attempt to head in that to find tunnels to snake our way over there?
Tanner:I mean, I know we don't know.
Mike:We can feel it.
Josh:You are not familiar with any path through the Hollow, but it would not be unreasonable to assume that there is some path through where you currently are into the area where Nox is located.
Josh:It'll be a little bit like navigating in the dark in that you also don't know where Nox is located.
Josh:You cannot feel it.
Tanner:right locate objects
Josh:Um...
Jorge:Love can feel it.
Josh:I would... Yes.
Noah:I feel.
Josh:Oh, can you feel it?
Noah:Okay.
Josh:No.
Josh:None of you happen to have this magic.
Josh:I know where the nearest Thessian compass is.
Josh:I will say that if you were blind, like right now just decided, okay, we're like vaguely south of where it's supposed to be.
Josh:Let's just head north and hope we hit it.
Josh:I think your chances of stumbling upon it by accident are exceptionally slim.
Josh:I will say, though, if you're trying to find a way in that doesn't involve going through a known option, if you can get your hands on a map of the area that might help you better locate where specifically the area that Knox is is, I would allow you to then maybe come back here and attempt to find some way through the hollow.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:That is definitely a, like, avenue to pursue.
Josh:It's just not something you can blindly be like, we're going this way now.
Josh:We'll find it.
Noah:What is the plan for... I love a homecoming.
Josh:Oh.
Noah:I know Henrik needs to solve this plague that's going on.
Noah:What is the plan for when we get to Nox?
Noah:Do we need to refine Nox blood?
Noah:Are we just going for a sightseeing tour?
Jorge:All right, all right.
Tanner:Well, there's going to be a lot of people there.
Tanner:I'm fairly certain.
Tanner:So I don't think we're just walking up.
Tanner:One does not simply walk up to Knox, you know.
Jorge:I'm going to set the yurt up.
Jorge:One moment.
Jorge:Set the yurt up.
Jorge:We can sit inside by the fire.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Continue, Commander.
Tanner:Frankly, I'm not sure what...
Noah:I mean, I could... If we got to Nox, I guess I could make a second Ashmont engine.
Tanner:will be accomplishing by going to nox i i agree that there is value but i just am worried about the dangers but we'd have to like secure nox you know what i'm saying yeah
Noah:I don't know.
Noah:Yeah.
Noah:We are in the most enemy territory we've ever been in.
Jorge:Yeah, but you know, she's kind of left the backyard.
Tanner:But we're not without allies.
Noah:Are we?
Jorge:That's just true.
Jorge:We could go to the sparrows.
Noah:I vote we go to the sparrows because.
Noah:But what's the end goal of getting the blood?
Jorge:I still thought we'd kind of pick up some blood on the way.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:OK.
Tanner:Well, now, no, no, can I, there might be a little bridge here.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:If we had a map of the area, you know, we could probably find a good secret way to get to Knox.
Tanner:I wonder if we could find some underground sparrow activity in the area of the prison outpost.
Jorge:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:They would probably have a lay of the land.
Tanner:I don't know.
Tanner:Josh, are we aware of any sparrow activity that happens in this area of Oresk?
Josh:Um, you would know that the Sparrows are at the very least interested in the prison outpost just by virtue of the fact that a lot of people that get locked up in a political prison like that are Sparrows.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:Um...
Josh:I don't know how involved either of you would be aware of the sparrows being interested in Oresk's expeditions down into Nox, just because that's kind of a little ancillary to the sparrows' general model.
Jorge:Oh.
Josh:But it would not be unsurprising if there were sparrows in the region around it.
Tanner:Because if we could at least find them, maybe even they could connect us with... I wonder if there are Knox researchers or scholars who are less devout or less... Yeah, I guess devout to the first house.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:And the Sparrows might know about people like that.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Good question.
Jorge:So I definitely feel like we probably need to get our hands on it.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:One, to help with your current of all the plague.
Jorge:And two, it is probably the best way to beat Kharkov, in my opinion.
Jorge:So we could swallow some Umbrite.
Jorge:Maybe you guys
Jorge:Two at the same time as you swallow the other Thracian Bloods, and then you know, bada bing, bada boom, we have all those powers.
Josh:I do just want to clarify slightly.
Josh:You put magic into Umbreit to make it bleed, and then you consume the blood from the crystal.
Jorge:Cool.
Jorge:We'll do that.
Josh:Just because otherwise I feel like in your head you're thinking, ooh, if I eat this hunk of ghost coal that I've been carrying around with me, I'll get beast powers.
Josh:And it's not quite how it works.
Jorge:So you got to put power magic into the beast coal to get the blood out.
Josh:It's not an unreasonable...
Jorge:Yep.
Jorge:So the very first vampires, the first one, actually came from this keep.
Jorge:There was a very mean man, I would say.
Jorge:This was before Roresque proper was a thing.
Jorge:He had the slave.
Jorge:And kind of as a joke, he kind of made the slave eat this.
Jorge:What we now know is that Slave got vampiric powers and started my Cabal.
Jorge:We theorize that other Cabals have also started from Umbrella directly.
Jorge:Then that's how they get their difference, their different bloodlines.
Jorge:So I would foresee this is similar to how those Lycanthropes get their powers, probably through the ghost coal or something like that.
Tanner:Thank you.
Jorge:Once we get a hold of this, then we could look to try to get the deep.
Jorge:I don't know.
Jorge:We might have to make a bargain with the gentleman or something like that.
Jorge:But then I think that's when we could try to do all three balancing act.
Noah:personally, I'm not going to consume that.
Noah:I got a lot of things happening already.
Noah:But if you want to do that, I'm all here.
Noah:I don't really like Oresk.
Noah:The...
Noah:Like, physical country itself is alright.
Noah:I guess I grew up here.
Noah:I don't know.
Noah:But, like, the governmental body seems like they're terrible.
Noah:But if Henrik's Sparrow folks have some vendetta against this that we can help out with, and then also get you some extra blood to chug, I'm in.
Jorge:And if you guys don't want to do the three things, that's fine.
Jorge:I would just prefer to get a little more juiced up and then maybe take control of my house.
Jorge:And then we have soldiers that are vampires.
Jorge:I don't know how well that would go, but it's possible.
Noah:God, every other sentence out of your mouth is crazy, dude.
Jorge:I don't know.
Jorge:It's possible.
Jorge:You don't know.
Noah:Crazy.
Noah:I'm in.
Jorge:The house is kind of stabilized based off power.
Noah:Let's do it.
Jorge:Isn't that correct?
Jorge:Josh, is that correct?
Josh:Sorry.
Jorge:Is that correct?
Jorge:Is it basically the way I always thought, that thralls just kind of go to the more powerful ones, and then they just kind of... I thought you also said if you were weak enough, you would just get your thralls taken by someone else, or just come and take them.
Josh:Thralls are kind of devoted to the things that make them thralls.
Josh:I don't recall ever saying that.
Josh:I'll accept it, but I'm fairly confident I never said that.
Jorge:Because you were saying the reason that I wouldn't have had any thralls is because if I had some, someone else would have come in to take them.
Josh:Yeah, not as a, like, a I'm more powerful than you thing.
Josh:It's more of a, like, physically yoinking it away from you because you are not strong enough to hold on to them.
Josh:It isn't like a vampires are most attracted to the most powerful entity in the room deal.
Jorge:Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Jorge:So how realistic does Lev actually think that he could take control of the cabal if he got stronger?
Jorge:Zero?
Jorge:Is that a zero?
Josh:Not zero.
Josh:It's just, like, the people in the cabal are, like, sentient.
Josh:thinking people.
Josh:So it'd be the same as any other powerful old organization in that you could, but you'd probably want somebody on the inside who is willing to support you and prop you up as the next leader of the cabal.
Jorge:Yeah, we'll work on this.
Tanner:There'd be some politics.
Josh:Not impossible.
Josh:Yes, there's absolutely politics.
Jorge:We'll workshop this.
Josh:Yeah, I just, I don't think Lev would be confident that if he just walked in and murdered the current head of the cabal and said, I've been charged now, that that would go fantastically, you know?
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:There's a chance, but yeah.
Jorge:Okay, got it.
Josh:There is absolutely a route in which Lev does become head of the Orskalka Cabal.
Josh:It just takes a little more upfront effort than walk in, kill everything you see, declare you're in charge.
Jorge:Sounds good.
Jorge:Good to know.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Okay, so is there anything you guys would like to do as you're walking along?
Josh:It's fine if the answer is no.
Jorge:So are we now trying to go to the sparrows?
Jorge:Is that where we're trying to go?
Tanner:Well, we need to emerge once we get past the mountains.
Josh:You still have, like, another four days of travel underground, because you made it to the midway point of the mountains, and now you need to get out the other side.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Then...
Jorge:And then go through.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:But once you're there, you guys had mentioned yesterday that, sorry, last session, that your plan was to emerge once you make it to the other side of the mountains, then travel above ground.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:So you will be emerging on the same peninsula as the Cernier Prison Outpost.
Josh:Umbervale Hold, Dragon's Lair, RC9, that place that you had visited in the other world, as well as the artifact that you guys had interacted with near the crashed Autoc transport.
Jorge:You guys want to get that?
Jorge:All right, let's go.
Noah:I think the artifact would definitely be worth a peek.
Jorge:I don't know what you're talking about, but it sounds easy.
Mike:Wait, wait.
Mike:I thought it was just like a fun reference location fact when you said it.
Mike:We're led to believe the artifact is there in this reality.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Well, you know that the artifact would be there in this reality, assuming nobody has moved it.
Mike:OK.
Josh:Yes.
Noah:In the other reality, the Dawnmonger specifically figured out how to activate that thing, right?
Josh:Correct.
Noah:Okay, so I can probably do it again.
Josh:Assuming nothing has changed, the Donbunker would be confident they could re-enable that artifact if it wasn't already enabled.
Noah:I'm just saying that was pretty cool, guys.
Jorge:Let's go there.
Jorge:Let's go.
Josh:Yeah, so think like
Noah:Henrik, as we're walking, I'll chat with Henrik.
Noah:The sparrows, do they have, like...
Noah:radio frequency or did they have like codes they put out or how did you guys get in contact?
Tanner:I think we've got kind of like codes and like drop boxes.
Tanner:I assume there's like symbols that maybe that mark locations.
Josh:Thieves Guild in Skyrim that adds marks on doorsteps and stoops and stuff like that to indicate things to people in the know.
Josh:But beyond that, the Sparrows are fundamentally comprised of people that served in the Oreskian military.
Tanner:Hmm.
Josh:And so they are familiar with encoding messages in the same way that the intelligence agency of Oresk would do so.
Josh:I think the...
Josh:The most obvious way to broadcast a message, like how the sparrows normally do it, is they will put a coded message in a circular, like in a newspaper, that gets published that other people who know how to decode it would understand it.
Josh:A lot of information is passed that way by leaving it in plain sight where it can be seen by a bunch of people, but it's encoded such that only other sparrows can figure out what the real message is.
Jorge:That's how I got my hits when I had to kill someone.
Josh:Both Henrik and Lev would be familiar with the code language that the Sparrows use and could both read and write it.
Noah:We could get in contact with the Sparrows at some point.
Noah:I don't know if there's like a town or something somewhere.
Noah:But it seemed like big guys.
Josh:Unfortunately, the peninsula that you guys are going to emerge out on, the only settled location on that peninsula is the prison outpost.
Josh:You would have to venture further into the country if you wanted to get to an actual town.
Tanner:Unless we can stumble upon a safe house of theirs that exists on this peninsula.
Tanner:But I'm not personally aware of where that would be located.
Jorge:Am I aware of any of those?
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:You would not be.
Josh:Your work before joining the Sparrows would not have brought you anywhere near them, and your work after joining the Sparrows would not have involved interacting with the outpost in any way.
Josh:Unfortunately, neither of you really have a backstory that involves going to this specific prison.
Josh:So...
Tanner:I think... I don't... Most of my backstory is related to Sarengrad, so...
Jorge:Let's keep
Noah:Okay.
Jorge:I just kind of traveled around killing things or setting fires to places or placing bombs underneath chairs or, you know, the usual.
Josh:one time you assassinated a guy in a train station with a pencil.
Jorge:That is true.
Jorge:A single pencil.
Josh:Either way.
Josh:It's another four or so days of travel before you get to the point that had been originally indicated to you as the closest egress point that you could reach by Turk when you were going over your original plans.
Josh:There have been a bunch of branches in the tunnels that you guys have followed directions.
Josh:I assume at least that you're following the directions and not choosing to forge your own path.
Josh:until you eventually get to what had been indicated as effectively the only obstacle between you and getting out of the tunnel system and back onto the surface, which is an anticyclic ruin.
Josh:that had been embedded in a lava flow underground that has this bridge that connects two sides of the lava flow so that you can get across in a safe manner before it leads to an ingress point that heads up.
Tanner:you
Josh:So as you approach this area, you find that the tunnel has kind of expanded outward.
Josh:as it's joined into a separate crevasse that runs through the hollow from some source further north that is the source of lava.
Josh:You gather that one of the mountains in the mountain range is actually a volcano.
Josh:and brings this massive, miles-long flow of lava traversing from north to south, effectively cutting in half.
Josh:Not in half, like cutting across your path through the hollow.
Josh:There is sticking out of this lava flow, close-ish to where Turk said it was supposed to be, this...
Josh:Dark metal, almost steel-like... I don't want to say it's a tunnel.
Josh:It's like a shack, effectively, on the edge of the lava flow that you can see there's a hallway that extends behind it and then descends into the lava itself.
Josh:Roll a perception check, if you like, as you approach.
Tanner:Heck, yeah.
Jorge:I will forego my rule.
Jorge:So there is lava, bridge, anti-cyclic ruin, and then there's this thing.
Noah:Same.
Mike:We're all.
Jorge:Is this adjacent to the ruin?
Josh:This is the entrance to the ruin.
Jorge:Oh, so we definitely got to go through it.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:So there is, in front of you, you are standing on the bank of a lava river.
Josh:The river itself, you know, is at its narrowest, about five miles across.
Josh:The ruin itself is submerged in the lava and provides this bridge.
Josh:I don't know why I said bridge.
Tanner:Oh.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:It's a tunnel.
Jorge:Oh, yeah.
Josh:It's a bridge in that you go under the lava and then there is a structure that passes through the lava.
Josh:It's technically not enclosed.
Josh:You'll see when you get there.
Josh:It was described to you as this is the entrance to the ruin.
Josh:Effectively, you go into the ruin, you just go straight, and then it goes upwards and just keeps going upwards until you hit the exit point.
Josh:What do we get for the perception?
Tanner:I got a 36.
Mike:Which was the highest?
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:We're only doing two roles for perception now, so.
Josh:Correct.
Josh:With a 36, I think it is unfortunately sweltering hot here.
Josh:You would know because you've come across, as you were traveling, you've come across other pools of lava.
Josh:Getting too close to a lava, even if you don't even physically get in contact with it, will start to burn you just by ambient temperatures of the lava itself.
Josh:And I think Henrik, in his armor, is probably more concerned with how unbearably warm it is where he currently is, instead of... Yes.
Tanner:What if I have Fire Resist Rune on the armor?
Josh:That's right, I forgot.
Tanner:Sorry.
Tanner:Sorry to ruin your narrative, but... It's still distracting.
Josh:Yeah, it's fine.
Josh:If you have a fire resistor, then it wouldn't hurt until you actually physically step into the lava.
Josh:So...
Tanner:I'm very sweaty.
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah, you're hanging out.
Josh:You're actually very comfortable.
Josh:It's like air-conditioned in your suit of armor.
Josh:But unfortunately, there just isn't much for you to say.
Tanner:It looks totally clear ahead.
Tanner:Let's proceed.
Mike:Okay.
Josh:As you descend down...
Noah:Yep.
Josh:It's not a particularly large, sorry, not a particularly long jaunt, maybe a hundred feet of stairway down before the hallway opens up into a much...
Josh:larger internal space.
Josh:Not immediately obvious what the space is used for, but it was clearly well taken care of when it was originally constructed.
Josh:This is anti-cyclic, so you don't know from which previous cycle this is from, but it is immediately obvious that this is not any particular architecture that is currently being constructed by the people on Altheim.
Josh:It is... Actually...
Josh:the two of you in the party who were present when you went to the Heidel Tap, the area underneath La Paisa in the Gulch, this architecture is reminiscent to you of what you had seen there.
Josh:The metal up top, the dark gray metal, kind of eventually gives way to this more brass, coppery tone.
Josh:There are...
Josh:The floors in this area are some kind of bronze alloy that has been polished so much that it's almost like a mirror.
Noah:Bye.
Josh:You can look down and you see the ceiling in the flooring.
Josh:The walls themselves are...
Josh:like filigreed paneling atop what looks to be a mess of tubing, piping and the like, that it kind of sounds like there's just some guy running around with a hammer hitting the pipes as they go by.
Josh:There's just constant percussion coming from the walls.
Josh:They are very much alive in that the machinery in this area is currently operational.
Josh:The opening space that you've entered into is about 40 feet to a side, generally square-shaped.
Josh:There are doors on the left and the right, and in front of you is a Giant actuated gate.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:It's...
Josh:The gate is not solid.
Josh:It's individual brass bars, so you can see through it.
Josh:But it looks like it's kept in place by a large armature that is attached to the center and rotates up and down to raise and close the gate.
Josh:It is currently closed.
Josh:There are also three figures in the room when you extend downward.
Josh:All humanoid in shape.
Josh:They all look like they're wearing this weird shiny...
Josh:material onesie.
Josh:It covers their whole body.
Josh:They're all red, and out of game, it's plastic.
Josh:It looks like plastic, but you guys in game would not have plastic, so instead it's some weird rubbery, shiny material.
Josh:They each look like they're interacting with a different part of the piping behind the walls.
Josh:Not...
Josh:It looks like they're doing some kind of maintenance.
Noah:There we go.
Josh:None of them react to your presence as you come in.
Josh:They are just all tending to parts of the walls.
Jorge:Are they humanoid?
Jorge:They're humanoid, right?
Josh:They are humanoid.
Josh:Two arms, two legs, normal torso.
Josh:The head is just kind of this big covering, so you can't actually see the shape of it.
Josh:And their faces aren't facing your direction.
Jorge:Um...
Tanner:Now, this, you said, is vaguely reminiscent of the Heidel tap.
Noah:Yeah.
Josh:There was.
Tanner:There was, like, a terminal, like, computer there, right?
Josh:You can roll a perception check when you're down here to see if there's anything that looks like a similar interface.
Jorge:Can I attempt to disguise to look like them?
Tanner:Oh, sugar.
Tanner:Got a 49.
Josh:Sorry, you want to attempt to disguise to look like what?
Jorge:Them.
Josh:You don't have plastic.
Josh:Like, I don't know.
Josh:What are you imagining Lev is doing to disguise himself to look like somebody in a hazmat suit?
Jorge:Lev's clothes can change.
Jorge:And he has
Jorge:paints.
Jorge:I don't know.
Jorge:I'm not a disguiser.
Josh:I understand, it's just, like, there are magic spells that do the full disguise thing.
Noah:I understand.
Jorge:It's okay.
Josh:A disguise kit is for changing, like, the shape of your face.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:It is not for making a full hazmat suit appear.
Josh:I will let you roll a deception check if you want to try.
Josh:I just, Lev will know in his head that this will be very difficult to pass off.
Josh:He can try, though.
Josh:I will let you do it.
Josh:With a 49, um, there...
Josh:There isn't an obvious terminal looking around.
Noah:you
Josh:The wall itself, this room is actually relatively bare.
Josh:It seems like it's some kind of entranceway into the rest of this facility and not an interstitial space so much.
Josh:I will say that with the 49, the things that you do notice are... There are...
Josh:There are some moving pieces in this room.
Josh:Beyond the sound of steam and stuff moving through pipes in the inside of the wall, there is a, in one corner of the room, what looks to be, from the angle that you're currently at, a kind of spyglass attached to the corner of the room that is moving slowly.
Noah:you
Josh:It is currently facing away from you guys, and to your knowledge, it has not been facing you yet, but it is starting to hit the edge of its rotation cycle and moving back towards the center of the room where you guys have emerged.
Josh:Um...
Tanner:Would I have any idea that that is a means of surveillance?
Noah:Yeah.
Tanner:Like, probably not.
Josh:I will let you... Are you proficient in occultism or crafting?
Tanner:I think both.
Josh:Okay, so pick your favorite of the two of them and roll.
Tanner:I'm actually an expert in occultism, believe it or not.
Josh:I believe it.
Tanner:Believe it or not.
Tanner:What's my modifier?
Tanner:I got a 32.
Josh:Okay, so with the 32...
Josh:I mean, I don't think it's unreasonable for Henrik to make the connection of spyglass moving.
Noah:Bye.
Josh:Someone might be looking through it.
Josh:I don't know if you'd necessarily be familiar with security cameras and all that entails, but that's clearly... Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:But the concept of being watched.
Jorge:I got a 45 on my disguise.
Josh:Excuse me.
Jorge:Hmm.
Josh:A 45 on your disguise.
Josh:You put together a relatively convincing... Like, your clothing has not morphed into the hazmat suit, but you've done a pretty good color matching for the six seconds you had.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:There isn't a lot you can do to get around the helmet-like bit of the costume.
Josh:So you've done your best.
Noah:I'll just hide.
Josh:From the back, from a little bit of a distance, it's pretty convincing.
Josh:Is there anything you guys would like to do immediately?
Jorge:I guess we're talking that's going to activate his ring of lies hopefully these things talk I doubt they will
Josh:Because if you don't have any actions to take right now, the spyglass will rotate back towards the center and see you.
Josh:I don't know if you're trying to avoid it.
Josh:I'm just letting you know that you have six seconds to do something.
Noah:just in plain sight.
Josh:Because that's a thing you can do.
Josh:You can just choose to be hidden.
Mike:Oh, DiveX was going to leave the room where we came out of eyes shut.
Josh:Yeah, I... Okay, so you guys are just backing out of the room.
Jorge:All right, fine.
Noah:Wow.
Jorge:I'll back out.
Jorge:I'll back out.
Jorge:If I'm seeing Dyvex backing out, I'll back out.
Josh:Except for the one person who hid and then backed out of the room?
Josh:Or are you staying in the room?
Noah:I guess seeing everyone else back out of the room, I'm back out of the room as well.
Josh:Okay, what did you get for your stealth?
Josh:Just out of curiosity.
Noah:I'm good.
Noah:35.
Josh:35.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Alright, so you all walk into the room, you see the three figures attending to their business, you see the spyglass moving back and forth, and you just decide to slowly back out of the room.
Tanner:Feels like the right thing to do.
Josh:You are now all standing on the stairwell that leads into that room or back out to the lava flow above.
Tanner:Okay, so we're gonna have to walk in there.
Noah:Anyone just run across?
Tanner:How do we want to do it differently than we just did it?
Jorge:Do you think they're friendly?
Mike:Um...
Noah:I can't tell.
Jorge:Do you think they're friendly?
Jorge:Or should I... Do you want to just go swinging?
Noah:Henrik, can you tell if they're, like, do you have life sense?
Noah:What if we get you really close?
Noah:Can you tell if they're alive or if they're robots?
Tanner:Yeah, I don't know what I'll feel, but it would probably give us some kind of information.
Noah:Oh, wait.
Tanner:But I'd have to get within 10 feet, which at that point we're talking to them.
Noah:Josh, I'd like to activate my heat vision.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:Can I see if there's a brain and a head inside?
Noah:Are there large heat sources inside of those rubber masks?
Noah:Or is it cold and robotic up there?
Josh:You would see a heat source located kind of close to the center mass.
Josh:of the individual.
Josh:It would be a little reduced because the hazmat suits they're wearing are actually insulating, and also the rest of the room is hot.
Noah:Okay.
Josh:It is in lava, and it's insulated, but it's not completely insulated.
Josh:But yes, you do see independent keyed sources on the interior of each of these humanoid figures.
Mike:How high up is the surveillance device?
Josh:It's at the ceiling, so about 15 feet up.
Josh:From, like, the entrance of the room to the surveillance camera would be... It's, like, 45 feet to get across and then, like, 10 feet up, so... I'll give you even 50.
Tanner:One.
Jorge:And there's other hallways outside here.
Josh:There are two doors, a left and a right, that extend out of this room.
Noah:you
Josh:Both doors are shut at the moment.
Josh:And there is a gate directly forward that is on an actuator that is currently closed.
Josh:Oh, you got a 49, so you can see... Henrik, you could have seen through the gate when you were looking around.
Josh:So, like, looking through the gate...
Josh:you would see that there is a bridge that extends about 10 feet out.
Josh:There are lava falls on the left and right side of that bridge, where it seems that whatever this structure is built into is just blocking the lava from falling directly on the bridge itself.
Josh:And then the bridge angles downward straight into the lava.
Josh:such that it appears to disappear below the surface of the lava flow where you currently are and then all the way across the other side of the room you'd have to guesstimate maybe 400 maybe 500 feet or so there is another flow of lava
Mike:So, we enter into the room.
Mike:Straight ahead, there's the people in the hazmat suits playing poker or whatever.
Josh:Yes, they're not interacting with each other.
Josh:Each of the three people in the hazmat suits are interacting with what looks to be piping in the walls.
Mike:And they're in... They're a room over, so there's a door.
Mike:They're just straight up in the room.
Josh:No.
Mike:Okay.
Josh:Yes.
Josh:So you walk down the staircase, you enter a 45 by 45 square foot room.
Mike:And then...
Josh:In this room are three people in hazmat suits who do not pay any attention as you walk in.
Josh:On the left side of this room, in the middle of the wall, is a door that is currently sealed.
Josh:On the right side, in the middle of the room, is a door that is currently sealed.
Josh:On the far side of the room, there is a gate that is held currently shut by an arm.
Josh:Beyond the gate is an extended hallway where the walls are lava, and there is a walkway that ends about 10 feet in.
Mike:Okay.
Mike:And where's the camera?
Mike:Is it in the right corner when we enter?
Josh:The camera is in the back top left corner of the room.
Mike:Okay.
Josh:So when you walk in, if you look up and to the left, you'd see it.
Mike:If I wanted to place a 10-foot radius on the people in the hazmat suits... Okay.
Josh:You could not get all three.
Josh:You could get two of them.
Tanner:you just looking to go in and and just wreck them like surprise that would be
Mike:No.
Mike:I was going to put an invisibility curtain around them so they couldn't see us.
Mike:But we could put an invisibility curtain around the camera.
Mike:Or Divex could go invisible and inspect the camera, but it may or may not be magical.
Jorge:Counter-proposal.
Jorge:We go in and we kill all of them.
Josh:you you
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:Well, we don't even know if they're aggressive.
Jorge:I say looking like a Teletubby.
Jorge:We go and we just kill them all.
Jorge:They're not going to be fragglies.
Jorge:They're not alive, so they wouldn't be here this long.
Jorge:Things don't come by here.
Jorge:They're not going to be friendly.
Tanner:Well, what if they don't even really, like, react?
Jorge:We can try.
Jorge:I can try talking to one.
Tanner:What if they just kind of do their thing?
Noah:We can just keep walking.
Noah:Walk right by.
Mike:Or we could just walk around them.
Tanner:I am concerned about the spyglass.
Jorge:Should we invisibility curtain that, and then we fight them?
Josh:Thank you.
Tanner:Probably we're going to have to fight them, but I... Yeah, that's true.
Mike:I mean, they didn't react when we entered the room the first time.
Mike:We've run into things that haven't fought us that were just sort of...
Jorge:They didn't see it.
Mike:neutral participants.
Noah:What if we just try and walk... What if we just get ready for a fight, but then walk across the room, and if they attack us, or if they look like they're going to attack us, we shoot first.
Tanner:you
Noah:But otherwise, just keep going.
Mike:Sure.
Jorge:So we're going to forego our strategic advantage.
Josh:Thank you.
Noah:I mean, I guess we could jump them, too.
Noah:I don't know.
Jorge:Is it insulting for me to go out like this?
Jorge:Should I change?
Noah:No, I think it's funnier if you go out like that.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:I guess, are we walking to the lava?
Jorge:We're going to try to take one of the doors out.
Jorge:Because I think the lava is continuing.
Jorge:But I kind of want to take shit from here.
Tanner:you
Mike:Uh... Yeah, I guess we could try both doors before we go the... Sure.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Left it is.
Jorge:Okay, that's cool.
Jorge:Lev summons his armor.
Jorge:No, no, no, no.
Jorge:The rune is Get Up, so he's just going to continue walking forward.
Josh:Um, okay.
Josh:So you're just walking forward.
Josh:Were you going to blind the spyglass or you're just walking in?
Mike:No.
Mike:Once DiveX gets vision on the spyglass, invisibility curtain around the spyglass, and then keep it moving.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Um, so you walk in as soon as you get like access to the spyglass invisibility curtain around it, which does what?
Tanner:you you
Josh:Invisibility wall makes creatures on one side invisible to the other side.
Josh:That's very fun Okay, yeah, absolutely You cast an invisibility curtain around it such that it can't see any of the creatures outside of it And then you will walk into the room and then you're beelining towards the left door Okay
Mike:Yeah.
Mike:While walking.
Mike:Calmly walking to the left door.
Josh:walking towards the left door.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You walk towards the left door and none of the three figures in the room react to your presence as you walk in.
Tanner:Do I get within 10 feet of any of them?
Josh:You can if you like.
Tanner:Yeah, do I get any feeling?
Josh:You would.
Josh:I don't think you get any more information than that, right?
Noah:you you
Tanner:I might be able to distinguish between undead.
Tanner:Let me look.
Josh:You gain life sense.
Josh:It allows you to sense the life force within living creatures and its counterforce that animates the undead, but you cannot distinguish between the two.
Tanner:Oh, I can't distinguish.
Tanner:Alright.
Josh:Yeah, no.
Josh:So you gain no information other than the things in the hazmat suits are alive.
Tanner:They give off life.
Josh:Yes.
Jorge:Which left does not.
Josh:Correct.
Josh:Because Lev's life is externally supported.
Jorge:I'm walking over.
Josh:So you guys walk over to the left door.
Jorge:Open.
Josh:There is no visible handle on this door.
Josh:It is a shutter made out of the same material that the rest of the room is made out of, this weird brassy material.
Noah:I got it, guys.
Josh:No obvious handle, no obvious mechanism for actuating it open or closed.
Josh:I will have whoever wants to roll a crafting check to attempt to figure out how to open this.
Noah:Don't worry.
Noah:Don't worry, folks.
Jorge:Thank you.
Noah:I've crafted a thing or two before in my life.
Noah:48.
Josh:48.
Josh:Okay, so Dawn takes a look at this door, and it's interesting.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:The mechanism for opening and closing the door doesn't appear to be physically present.
Josh:in that you don't see an obvious way that somebody just walking up to the door would be able to do something and cause the door to open or close.
Josh:If anything, you feel like it should be automatic.
Josh:You would gather that it would just open when somebody approached, because whatever the lifting mechanism is isn't here currently.
Josh:With the 48, though, I think what you could do is you could probably trace some of the piping that comes off of the door, off of where in the wall you would expect the mechanism to be, and follow that down to a series of levers.
Josh:Sorry, levers is the wrong term.
Josh:Like valves that open and close.
Tanner:you
Josh:There's a battery of pipes that head eventually into the doorway.
Josh:Or some of them are opened, some of them are closed.
Josh:And you're pretty sure if you managed to direct the steam into the door-like mechanism, it would cause the door to pressurize and then open.
Josh:There are, like, looking over at the side, it's eight valves.
Josh:It's two rows of four each, where it's like one, two, three, four, and then five, six, seven, eight.
Josh:Currently, the one, three, and seven valves are open, and the rest are closed.
Tanner:What is wrong with our predecessors and the need to have math puzzles in all of their buildings?
Noah:all of them I'll just open all of them and see what happens
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You turn all of them open.
Josh:You hear the sound of hissing as some steam passes through some of the valves that you've just opened up.
Josh:And then you hear emanating from the spot where the spyglass is.
Noah:I'll close every single one of the valves.
Josh:Is somebody messing with the...
Josh:The workers aren't allowed to do that.
Josh:Hello?
Josh:Is anybody there?
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You hear the steam stop as it hits the points in the valves where you've closed all of them.
Josh:And the voice says again, Okay, I know someone's there.
Josh:Clearly there's a... The workers can't do this.
Josh:So I know someone's out there.
Noah:So there's one through eight.
Josh:Yes.
Noah:We'll try... Yeah, I'll just do one, two, three, five, and eight.
Jorge:Do you need me to buy you some time?
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Question, Josh.
Josh:Yes.
Jorge:Does Lev recognize the accent?
Jorge:Like, what region Lev thinks it's from?
Jorge:Does he think it's a Ruskin?
Jorge:Does he?
Josh:He can roll a society check if he likes.
Jorge:I guess.
Josh:Sorry, can you tell me the valves that you opened again?
Josh:Okay.
Noah:One, two, three, five, and eight.
Tanner:Thank you.
Jorge:Oof.
Josh:You turn each of the valves, and then you hear the sound of steam.
Josh:No other reaction from the door.
Josh:What did you get for your society?
Jorge:I fumbled, and then I got 19.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:So Lev is going to... He has no idea, I'm assuming.
Josh:Yeah, Lev can't quite place the accent.
Josh:If he had to guess, it would be from like a Threya, maybe?
Josh:It's not Oreskian.
Josh:It's also not Bravasan.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Lev's going to be like, oh, hello there.
Jorge:How are you?
Josh:Oh, okay.
Jorge:Just got to try to do an old person.
Josh:There are people.
Noah:Happens, you know.
Josh:Roll a deception check.
Josh:You're trying to pretend to be an old person.
Josh:You just... Yeah.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:So I have a...
Tanner:You know how senility can be.
Tanner:You could just end up in a pre-cyclic ruin.
Jorge:I didn't roll anything.
Josh:Well, you typed 38, so...
Jorge:Oh my god.
Jorge:I will re-roll that.
Jorge:I don't need any more hero points.
Jorge:45.
Jorge:Oh, it's... It is legendary.
Josh:Did you add your... What's your normal thing in?
Josh:What's your proficiency?
Jorge:So plus 2.
Josh:Okay, so add two more.
Jorge:Yeah, so 47.
Josh:Okay, you do... You all hear Lev do a very convincing geriatric Lev.
Jorge:Very confused.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:The voice will say, okay, I think something's gone wrong with the viewfinder system because I can't see you.
Josh:Also, you sound so old.
Josh:I'm sorry that you're here.
Josh:Um...
Jorge:Oh, young man, I think I see you.
Jorge:And I just tried describing the creatures.
Jorge:It's kind of blurry, but I think there's two more of you as well.
Jorge:Oh.
Josh:No, those are the workers.
Josh:I'm not in the room with you.
Josh:Excuse me, is anybody else, like, the caretaker of this man?
Jorge:Oh, is this the way out?
Josh:I can't see anything.
Josh:So, yes.
Noah:As this is going on, I'm just going to close all the valves and then open one, close it, open two, close it, open three, close it, and just go all the way down the line and see what happens.
Josh:Okay, absolutely.
Josh:None of those work, unfortunately.
Jorge:I'm pretending I'm hitting the valves.
Josh:The voice will say, stop just opening and closing the valves.
Josh:It's not going to help.
Jorge:Do you want me?
Noah:Okay, we're going to do all the odd numbers, open, see if it does anything.
Noah:If not, we'll do all the even numbers.
Josh:Okay, neither of those work either.
Josh:The voice will say, I can help.
Josh:I don't know what you're doing right now, but...
Jorge:How can you help me, young man?
Jorge:Should I come shake your hand?
Josh:You can't shake my hand.
Josh:I'm not in the room with you.
Josh:What's your name, old man?
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Josh:What?
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Josh:Berikson?
Jorge:Yes, I was named after my great-grandfather.
Noah:Anyone?
Jorge:Very wise, man.
Josh:Berik?
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Josh:Okay, Berikson.
Josh:Listen, if you just stop... If you stop opening and closing the valves for a second...
Jorge:All right.
Josh:I think I could help you.
Josh:I just don't know what you're doing here, so I don't know how to help you.
Jorge:I was walking around, and then I pressed a button, and then I came here.
Jorge:There was a thing of light.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:And I'm just going to start rambling about some fake and cyclic thing I touched.
Josh:Absolutely.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Okay, you got teleported in here.
Josh:That's crazy.
Josh:I can try and help you get out.
Josh:Uh, it's dangerous, though, so if you know, were you, like, traveling with people before you got teleported?
Jorge:Thank you, young man.
Noah:I'm just gonna... I guess I'll just open... I'll do 1, 2, and then 4, 5, and then 7, 8 all at once.
Josh:Can we expect other people to join you?
Josh:Yes, Noah.
Jorge:I don't think so.
Jorge:I had my niece.
Jorge:She's very kind.
Jorge:Her name's Alyssa.
Jorge:And he's going to talk really long about just doing old people stuff.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:I'm coming to see you, young man.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:What was your name?
Josh:It was none of those.
Josh:I'm sorry.
Josh:My name's Damien.
Josh:I'd like to help.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Do you have a weapon?
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:I used to be a boxer when I was your age.
Josh:You don't know how old I am.
Jorge:I can tell from your voice it was young.
Josh:Okay, I guess I appreciate that, old man.
Josh:It's not really safe in the rest of the facility, and I don't want to send you to your death.
Josh:So, yes.
Noah:Are any of these valves that look at them, did any of them look like they were turned more often?
Noah:Or were some of them rusted more heavily?
Josh:You can try a perception check.
Jorge:I try to stop Don for a moment.
Jorge:I think I'm going to get somewhere.
Noah:Well, it doesn't matter because I got a 34.
Josh:Well, 34 is enough to note that they are all sparkling.
Josh:They are exceptionally well maintained.
Noah:I don't know what's going on.
Tanner:Yeah, I don't know what it's supposed to be.
Noah:I wave over and go, Divex, Divex, you're smart.
Jorge:Should I go through one of these doors?
Mike:And... And direct...
Jorge:I can't seem to... I'm not pressing the buttons right, I think.
Josh:Okay, so you can get to a safe room if you go through the door on the left.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:You need to know which valves to open and close.
Jorge:Oh, OK.
Josh:There should be a worker near you.
Josh:If you rummage around in its pockets, it should have an eyeglass.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Look through the eyeglass and it'll tell you which things to turn to open the door.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Cool.
Jorge:Should I just wait here?
Jorge:What do you think are next steps?
Josh:No, you should get the eyeglass and go into the door on the left, because that's safe.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:All right, I'm going in.
Josh:And hopefully I can see you because there's a camera in that room.
Josh:Okay, absolutely.
Jorge:Sounds good.
Jorge:Lev's going to do another quick disguise to make himself look fucking ancient.
Jorge:And now I'm going to try to grab a spyglass and be like, try to shoo everyone else away.
Jorge:Should I do a deception check for my new outfit?
Josh:Roll a perception check.
Josh:Yeah, we'll do that too.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:The perception check is to go rummaging through the nearest worker's overalls to try and get the eyepiece.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:48 for my new outfit.
Josh:Okay, you look like an old man.
Josh:You no longer look like you're wearing a hazmat suit.
Josh:You instead look like an old man.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:I have a little cane.
Jorge:41 to rummage.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:I like to imagine Lev just has a folding cane in his bag, just in case.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Well, that's mostly what's in my bag of holding.
Jorge:It's just random shit.
Jorge:There's scarves, there's boas.
Josh:And what did you get for the perception check?
Jorge:41, I believe.
Josh:41.
Josh:Okay, so easy enough.
Josh:There are exterior pockets on this hazmat suit.
Josh:You go rummaging around in a few of them.
Josh:The worker does not react to the fact that you have just stuck your hand in one of its pockets.
Jorge:I'm sorry there, young man.
Josh:Um...
Jorge:Don't mean to be handsy.
Josh:With an over 40 perception check, you will also get to an angle in which you can actually see through the face visor.
Josh:The inside is... It doesn't look like much of anything when you first get a glance of it, because the visor is mildly reflective, and so it just kind of shows you your own face.
Josh:But you can kind of peek through, and you can see that there are... There's...
Josh:The interior of the exosuit has these bars of metal sticking up where the head should be, and then thread...
Jorge:Testing.
Josh:threaded between each of these different bars, and then some kind of weird pale pulsating substance is growing up and along the bars and on the cords and stuff.
Josh:It does not seem to react to you, like, rummaging through, and eventually you find in one of its pockets what looks to be a...
Josh:Like a spyglass.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:Like a small telescope.
Josh:You know those telescopes that extend?
Josh:It just doesn't look like it extends.
Josh:It's just this big.
Josh:You hold it up to one eye.
Josh:It is made out of the same brass that much of the walls and floors are made out of.
Jorge:I say inside of a second.
Josh:I will...
Josh:You also find, amidst some, like, wrenches and the like, in one of the other pockets of this thing's clothing is a peach.
Jorge:I'm not going to take it.
Jorge:That's his food.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:I say Thruseron.
Jorge:Is Damien a Reskian name, or is that a Propossing name or something else?
Josh:I can take a society check to try and place the origin of the name Damien.
Jorge:Does anyone know?
Tanner:Let me check my society modifier.
Tanner:It's 19.
Noah:I guess I can try.
Mike:I'll make a roll.
Noah:I'm not from this country, but I'm pretty decent at deciding.
Josh:So, Don, just as soon as he got into this world, just went to a library, took out a bunch of books on, like, genealogy.
Josh:Oh, okay.
Noah:Apparently.
Noah:No, I didn't.
Noah:I did not do that.
Noah:Apparently.
Mike:All right, Divex will roll as well then.
Mike:43.
Josh:43.
Josh:I mean, figuring out where somebody's from just off of their name isn't an exact science.
Josh:Damien is an Oreskian name.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:It is also an Athrean name.
Josh:it shows up in both cultures.
Jorge:Well, I think I have the monocle, young man.
Jorge:I think you might need to feed your workers more food.
Josh:Excellent.
Jorge:They seem kind of out of it.
Josh:They're not my workers, they're just the workers.
Jorge:Oh, okay.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:And they don't have anything going on up there most of the time, so you're fine.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:Okay, take the spyglass out, and then use it to follow the correct pipes so that you know which things to turn on and off.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:It is an action to seek through the spyglass, but doing so, you can see very clearly that 1, 2, 6, and 8 are all glowing this, like, faint yellow when you look at them through the eyeglass.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:And I motion for the compatriots to move out of the way.
Noah:Let me move out of the way.
Jorge:And then I go and I press those.
Josh:Okay, yeah, you turn those, you close the other ones.
Jorge:I'm going to fumble a little bit.
Jorge:It's not going to be perfect the first time.
Josh:Sure.
Jorge:And then I'm going to open it and go in.
Josh:Okay, so like 45 seconds of fumbling later, the voice over the loudspeaker will say, Okay, I can see you're having a little bit of trouble.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:You can do it.
Josh:I believe in you.
Josh:And then you get the last one, and there's this really sharp hissing sound, and the door gets pushed down as a piston on the side of it is engaged and kind of forces it down into the ground, which allows you the doorway now to enter into this next room.
Jorge:Thank you.
Jorge:All right, everyone.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:So you walk in and you find yourself in a like an office space a little bit.
Josh:This room is similar to the room where you had seen the terminal in the in the handle tap.
Josh:It's just kind of the side room.
Josh:It's got shelving places where books ought to be.
Josh:There's like a little sitting area.
Josh:There's a small metal table up against what looks to be a very uncomfortable cushionless sofa.
Josh:You don't know if there used to be cushions and they've just decayed to dust from age, or if the people who built this just really liked brass and didn't want to entertain other materials.
Jorge:Mm hmm.
Josh:Of note is sitting on the sofa is a skeleton in a uniform.
Tanner:you
Josh:It's just kind of slumped over on the side.
Josh:It looks like one of the arms is detached.
Jorge:Mm-hmm.
Josh:The uniform is the same reddish color that the workers on the outside are wearing, except it's not a full hazmat.
Josh:It's a shirt and pants.
Josh:In addition, in the corner of the room here, like the back right when you enter, is another spyglass, which will rotate down towards the entrance and see you.
Josh:And then you'll hear a voice say, Okay, old man!
Josh:I'm sorry you're in this situation.
Josh:There is a valve that you can hit when you come in.
Josh:If you, like, turn around, there's a knob.
Josh:If you turn that, it should close the door again.
Josh:So you will be safe if anything else happens to wander in.
Josh:I highly suggest you do that.
Jorge:You're a very nice man.
Josh:And you can wait here for a little bit while I try and figure out how to get you out of this safely.
Jorge:Do you work with the government?
Josh:The government.
Josh:No.
Josh:Also, you just assume that if you meet a nice person, they work with the government?
Josh:I'm not going to dig into that.
Josh:I'm not.
Josh:I'm part of a mercenary party, and I'm a little bit trapped right now.
Jorge:Oh, what mercenary group?
Josh:I was hoping you could help, but it's clear you can.
Josh:So you just hold on.
Josh:Yes, Noah.
Noah:While this is happening in Saran, I'll just say to the rest of the group, while he's not looking at the eyeglass, should we just cross?
Noah:Should we just cross?
Noah:I'm going to just start walking.
Noah:Yeah, while he's having this interaction with... Oh, I'll check the other door.
Tanner:Towards the gate?
Josh:So where are you going?
Josh:The closed gate?
Jorge:Or check the other.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Check the other door, too.
Josh:That's fine.
Tanner:Wait, but we... Go on.
Jorge:What?
Josh:The other door is similarly closed, and you can see that there's a number of valves, one through eight as well.
Noah:I'll go over to these workers and I'll just rummage in their pockets and pull out one of these eyeglasses.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You can find an eyeglass.
Jorge:I say, Insuron, careful.
Tanner:He's...
Jorge:There might be other cameras.
Tanner:And he'll know if you start messing with other things while he's looking at the old man.
Josh:You can roll a perception check.
Noah:While this is happening, instead of opening the door, I'm just going to look through this eyeglass around the room and see if there's anything else interesting glowing.
Jorge:Are there any other... What happens in the other room?
Josh:Sorry.
Jorge:What happened in the other room to the right?
Jorge:Why'd you have me come left?
Josh:Well, if you go in the room to the right, that would eventually get to where I am, which would be fun, but it's dangerous because there's a little bit of a lava flow that's broken through, and every once in a while you get nasty creatures that show up there, and frankly, you do not look up to the task of fighting them.
Jorge:Hmm?
Jorge:Okay, and then what's the name of that mercenary group you were saying?
Josh:I am, or I guess was, part of Shatterpoint.
Josh:I haven't seen the rest of my crew in a little bit.
Josh:I'm a bit miffed about that, if I'm being completely honest.
Josh:But, you know, that's what it says on our plates.
Jorge:Quick question, young man.
Jorge:How do you even...
Jorge:Seeing all of this.
Josh:I am currently trapped in a room which has a bunch of really cool, like, spyglass cameras and stuff, so I can see most of the facility.
Josh:I've got pipes and stuff running through here.
Josh:I've found that I can, like, open and close them, and I see where Steam's moving around.
Josh:But try as I might, the door getting out of this place is sealed shut, and I can't find any way to open it.
Jorge:I sense around.
Josh:I think it must be locked from the outside or something.
Jorge:Should we tell him that we can help him?
Mike:Well, remind him of your boxing years.
Noah:In Sarong?
Jorge:you know, yeah, I could definitely fight anything on the way there.
Mike:Say that you could take anything that comes through here.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:And I let go of my cane a little bit, and I wobble, but I catch myself.
Jorge:And then I just put my arms up, and I'm like, yeah, man, I'm coming to get you.
Jorge:Did you tell him?
Josh:Now, listen, Gramps, I appreciate the intent there, but I can tell you are in no fightin' shape.
Josh:You should stay behind.
Tanner:Oh, ask him if he teleported here too.
Josh:Well, let's do Noah.
Noah:Oh.
Noah:Crazy.
Jorge:Oh, yeah, there I go.
Noah:I'll use my beast blood.
Noah:I got a 38.
Josh:A 38.
Josh:Okay, so looking around in the room for things that are identified by the spyglass, you can see the correct valves to turn to open up the door on the right.
Josh:You do not see valves for the, like, center gate to proceed forward.
Josh:What you would see is you can see some pipes that travel upward and then further right into the complex.
Jorge:How did your shatter head get here?
Noah:Okay.
Jorge:Such a point.
Josh:Shatterpoint, and we were traveling, we were traveling through the cave system, hoping to find, you know, monsters that might be worth a bounty if we brought them back to town.
Josh:Wandered a little bit further than we expected, came across this area, thought to venture in, and I got nabbed!
Josh:And just kind of stuffed into this room back here.
Jorge:What nabbed you?
Josh:There was like one of the worker guys, the workers are docile, but one of the workers like wearing in like a black suit instead of the red ones that they're wearing just kind of grabbed me and pulled.
Josh:And before I knew it, I was just real far, far back in here.
Jorge:And where's town for you?
Jorge:Are you rescuing?
Josh:No, I'm from up north.
Josh:I think we wandered a little bit away because this was not on any of our maps.
Jorge:Oh.
Jorge:That makes sense.
Jorge:Well, I have a...
Noah:No, this is way funnier.
Jorge:Give me one second.
Jorge:I need to collect my thoughts, and I start reaching for my cane.
Jorge:I say in SeRaan, you want to just tell him that we're going to come get him now?
Jorge:Is that okay?
Jorge:He seems nice.
Mike:yeah well wait do i have oh
Jorge:But he's going to watch us go there.
Noah:Yeah, and he'll be like, he'll be so scared.
Josh:You just have to cast Visibility Curtain on every camera as soon as you see it.
Noah:He'll be like, blow all your spells on this gag.
Tanner:Can you go shake hands with the skeleton and maybe also try to learn something about it?
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:I'll do that.
Jorge:That's a good idea.
Josh:Okay, so roll a perception check as you go to investigate the skeleton.
Jorge:Oh, you didn't say you were in this room, young man.
Jorge:34.
Josh:That's not me.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:I've been calling him Johnny.
Josh:He's just been like that the whole time I've been here.
Jorge:Gotcha, gotcha.
Josh:34.
Josh:Okay, so... There's no name tag or any identifying information on him.
Josh:You would know that the process of resetting the cycle does actually clear out most writing.
Josh:But...
Josh:I think the two things of note you would find on him is there is a small, like, river stone, almost.
Josh:A black circular disc in one of the pockets that looks like it's been worn into, like a thumb has just kind of been rubbing on one side of it for a long period of time.
Jorge:I'll grab both of those.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:And on one of the other pockets, you find this long cylinder made out of brass with two prongs on the end.
Josh:No, I woke up and they were gone.
Jorge:One other thing.
Jorge:So you saw your compatriot leave through the cameras?
Jorge:Oh, they might have been murdered.
Jorge:How many were there?
Josh:I mean, there were four of us, including me.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Oh, so sorry.
Josh:They're not the workers.
Jorge:I'm so sorry.
Josh:I know what you're thinking.
Josh:They're not the workers because the workers have been here and there's more of them.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Well, I'm going to come get you.
Jorge:I say it's drawn.
Josh:I really don't think that's a good idea.
Jorge:I'll just... We should just...
Jorge:tell him he's gonna see us walking and it's gonna be he's not gonna trust us otherwise all right well i will see you soon son um
Mike:No.
Mike:Divex has something called Invisibility Sphere, which for 10 feet emanation around Divex, it shrouds everyone.
Mike:I didn't redo all of my spells post-heist.
Mike:I have like five different types of invisibility.
Noah:So on him.
Josh:Please stay put.
Josh:I would feel terrible if you wandered into an area and got killed by a lava monster.
Jorge:Oh no.
Josh:Yes, Henrik.
Tanner:Was this room to the left that he's in just a singular room?
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:It doesn't have anywhere else.
Jorge:Would you believe me, son, if I said I've killed a god?
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:I think you've been away from your meds a little bit too long, and I can't really help you with that, so I would love it if you could stay put.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:When I see you, I'm going to give you a nice strong drink.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:See you soon.
Jorge:And I just start walking out.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:God, I'm gonna get an old man killed.
Mike:Wait.
Josh:Sorry, you wander back out of the room.
Jorge:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh:Okay, you're in the central room now.
Josh:He says, okay, I can't see you, but just stay safe.
Noah:I unlock the other door.
Jorge:I have wings if I need it.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:But I make sure we get out of the way so that if there is a camera at the other side, it doesn't see me.
Mike:So, Slevmir, can you fly?
Josh:Okay.
Mike:You can fly, right?
Mike:No, but your wings would show if you wanted to show up on the security cameras flying.
Jorge:They would.
Mike:So what if I... Do that.
Jorge:But could you imagine how creepy that would be if some old man had bat wings that came out of blood?
Mike:Do that.
Mike:I'll cast a visibility sphere on us three.
Mike:We'll move behind you and you'll just hover flapping through the halls like, I told you I have kills.
Jorge:Oh no, I tried to end it.
Noah:you you
Josh:Why are you going this far?
Mike:Let's go.
Mike:Let's go.
Josh:Okay, so the three of you... Absolutely.
Mike:Divexcast Invisibility Sphere.
Josh:So Divex casts Invisibility Sphere.
Josh:So the three of you for the next ten minutes are invisible.
Josh:Oh, how long is it at fifth level?
Mike:It's at fifth level.
Mike:An hour.
Josh:Forever?
Josh:It's an hour.
Mike:No, it's an hour.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:I didn't prepare it at third.
Jorge:You realize the Bracken might try to grab Lev, right?
Mike:It's not like I'm just trying to... The Bracken?
Jorge:Yeah, we're playing a lethal company right now.
Josh:Okay, so you open up the other door into the next room.
Jorge:All right.
Noah:you
Tanner:you you
Jorge:I start walking down the hall.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:There's a short hallway.
Josh:There is a camera in this one.
Josh:And so Damien will say, okay, I can see you again.
Josh:I think the bug is just in that center room.
Josh:Gosh, anachronism.
Josh:I don't think they would use bug for a thing that's gone wrong.
Josh:Either way.
Josh:Okay, so you have to be careful.
Josh:When you walk into the next room, there was like an earthquake or something a few days ago.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:It's not looking great in there.
Josh:There is lava just on the floor.
Josh:You can walk on the ground, just don't walk too close to the lava.
Jorge:So I shouldn't walk on the ground.
Jorge:I'm pretty hearty.
Jorge:I look at the ground.
Jorge:Is there lava near there?
Jorge:Can I actually walk across it or should I fly across it?
Josh:So there is definitely room for you to stand.
Josh:One second.
Jorge:I have fire-resistant 10, by the way.
Noah:There's no reason.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:He doesn't know that.
Josh:He thinks you're an old man.
Jorge:I know.
Josh:No.
Jorge:He doesn't realize I have fire-resistant 10, sonic 10, electric 10, ice 13, poison 8, acid 10.
Josh:Why would he know any of that?
Josh:There's no reason for him to suspect that because you have portrayed yourself as an old man who got teleported in by accident and has no right to just be hanging out in here.
Jorge:He's gonna see...
Jorge:Alright, I'm going to keep walking.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:Good afternoon, sir.
Josh:So if you go to https://btl.iridi.cc you should be able to see the room that you've walked into.
Jorge:Cool.
Tanner:Oh my god.
Mike:Hell yeah.
Josh:This hallway up here.
Tanner:Where did we enter from?
Josh:The north.
Josh:There is a puddle of lava.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:Beyond the bottom of the map, there is the flow of lava that is feeding into the interior chamber that you're currently in.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Damien, over the loudspeaker, will say, okay.
Josh:So in order to get through this area, you need to close the piping that's bringing the lava in so that you can drain it because the door is on the other side.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:So I'm going to try and walk you through the process here.
Josh:If there's danger, I need you to stop what you're doing and run.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:We'll wait for somebody else to come along.
Jorge:Do not worry about me.
Jorge:I'm hardier than I look.
Josh:It's really hard for me not to do that.
Josh:Sir... Guy... What is your name?
Josh:I forget it already.
Josh:I don't remember.
Jorge:It was what it left set.
Tanner:Was it Breckinson or something like that?
Josh:Brackinson, sure.
Jorge:Brackinson.
Josh:Okay, Mr. Brackinson.
Jorge:Brackinson.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Sir Brackinson.
Josh:If you look... Okay.
Jorge:I used to be in the military.
Jorge:Remember that.
Noah:Bye.
Jorge:All right.
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:Sure.
Josh:Sir Brackinson.
Josh:You should see these pillars in the room with you.
Josh:You're going to need to activate them in a particular sequence, okay?
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:If you use the eyeglass, it should highlight with the correct one to activate is.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:And then you pulled that baton from Jerry.
Josh:On the correct pillar, there should be a spot to insert the baton.
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Josh:You insert it and twist.
Josh:And that activates the pillar.
Josh:Okay?
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:So DM question.
Jorge:Is there something on the other side that I could just fly to?
Jorge:Skip this.
Josh:There's currently a flow of lava from the ceiling.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:OK, so now.
Josh:You'd need some way to... In theory, there's a hallway behind it.
Josh:If you have some way to navigate around the lava, or not around it, but through it without being injured, you can do that.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:But if you wanted to stop the lava flow, you'll probably have to do what Damien's asking.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:I'll start doing what Damon asked.
Jorge:I'll start looking around.
Josh:Okay, absolutely.
Josh:So it's an action to seek with the eyepiece, which would identify one of the panels over there.
Jorge:I'm going to actually say answer on.
Jorge:Can you guys tell me which one it is?
Jorge:I think it'll be a lot funnier for me to say.
Jorge:I could not look at it.
Noah:It will look while invisible and tell it which one it is.
Jorge:And I'll just be like, I have a good vibe from this one.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So the first one is the one all the way on the right, which you can go over to, and then you see that there is a port for the baton to fit into and then rotate.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Go on.
Josh:You put the baton in, you rotate, there is this very loud click-clack.
Josh:As you can hear, something has shut somewhere in the general vicinity.
Jorge:Mm-hmm.
Josh:The flow of lava...
Josh:appears to get slightly smaller than it was before, still fully covering the doorway, but you are definitely making a dent there.
Josh:Everybody who's in the room can make a perception check if they like.
Tanner:Here we go.
Tanner:I got a 40.
Noah:Everybody in the room.
Noah:Yeah, perception check.
Mike:Everybody in the room getting tipsy.
Mike:Yeah, perception check.
Mike:Beat that, Henrik.
Josh:What'd you get?
Mike:Got a 45.
Josh:45.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Well, so 40 and 45 both.
Josh:You would notice that there are already some ripples in the pool of lava.
Josh:Most of them are explainable by the flow of lava coming in from the far end of the room.
Mike:It's got to be like, I don't know, like a school bus or something.
Josh:Some of them are going the wrong way.
Josh:Like you see breaks in the ripples coming out as if something's kind of passing through the lava underneath the surface.
Jorge:I say it's run.
Mike:It's not anything threatening.
Mike:Uh...
Noah:Definitely.
Jorge:Do you think you could stop that lava flow at the top and we just fly through?
Jorge:I have a wall, but it is made of ice.
Jorge:So I don't know how long that would hold lava.
Mike:Well, if it hardens the lava into rock quick enough.
Tanner:Oh, does anyone have a Minecraft water bucket?
Mike:I don't think I have any walls.
Jorge:I could try it at the ceiling.
Josh:Make some obsidian?
Jorge:All right, I'll try it.
Mike:I... Yeah, I don't have any walls.
Jorge:I'll try to cast Wall of Ice at where the lava's coming in from, the top there.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:Okay, I need to... Let me just read a whole lot of ice.
Jorge:But before I do it, I'm just going to be like, excuse me.
Mike:You can walk into the invisibility sphere and then cast it.
Josh:So he disappears, and then a wall of ice appears?
Mike:Let me stretch my back real quick.
Mike:Where did you go?
Mike:What the fuck?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:What level are you casting Wall of Ice at?
Jorge:uh fifth yeah okay
Josh:Fifth.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Okay, at fifth level, the section of the wall in front of where the lava is has AC 10, hardness 10, and 40 hit points.
Josh:The lava automatically hits.
Josh:I won't give it a crit, because that's fine.
Josh:Lava does 24d6 damage to what it touches.
Josh:So I'm going to roll that, and if it's 50 or higher, the ice wall breaks immediately.
Josh:If it's not 50 or higher, then the ice wall will break in 6 seconds.
Jorge:Okay, so we don't think it's going to make some rock that keeps it... Okay.
Josh:No, you cannot use ice to stop a flow of lava.
Jorge:I feel like it would get a... No, no, it would immediately get melted.
Jorge:It would immediately get melted anyway.
Jorge:If it did make rock, it'd get remelted.
Josh:It would actually, like, explode, because that's what happens when water contacts lava.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:But I will just...
Josh:Okay, so that was 92 points of damage.
Josh:So you summon an ice wall, and it is immediately evaporated through.
Josh:Explosively deconstructed, I suppose.
Josh:And you'll hear over the loudspeaker, Damien says, I didn't know you knew magic!
Josh:Wait, sorry, did you walk into the invisibility sphere first and then cast it, or did you cast it while you were...
Jorge:I walked in.
Jorge:I tried to pretend it was glitched.
Josh:Oh, okay.
Josh:So he will say, okay, I think there's something seriously wrong because you just disappeared and there was... Did you do the ice thing?
Josh:Like, did you do that and I just can't see it because the camera's broken?
Jorge:What ice thing?
Josh:I see the ice.
Mike:And Divex... And Divex... See if he buys that this guy buys it.
Josh:Like, the camera is pointed at the far side of the wall.
Josh:I can see the ice that has grown in front of the lava.
Jorge:Oh, that's what that is.
Jorge:Sorry, my vision's blurry.
Josh:That's so concerning.
Mike:Is he double bluffing us?
Mike:Or just bluffing us?
Josh:You can try a perception or deception check here to see if he knows that this old man isn't really an old man.
Jorge:How are we going to fight?
Jorge:He's got a no.
Tanner:Thank you.
Jorge:All right.
Mike:44.
Josh:With a 44...
Josh:They seem genuine.
Josh:As best you can tell from their actions, they think an old man teleported into an underground lava ruin and is now wandering the halls.
Josh:And they're trying to not have them die.
Jorge:I think it's time to tell him.
Jorge:young man, you know, to defend myself, I think I have a weapon somewhere here.
Jorge:And I pull out from a bag of hoarding my sword.
Jorge:I just pull out my hand and a half sword.
Noah:Thanks.
Josh:You just make it out of blood in the bag?
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I'll say, okay, I... You don't actually need that now.
Josh:You just need to, like, turn the valves.
Josh:But if you can swing it, that's good.
Josh:Okay?
Jorge:I'd do the other valves.
Josh:Another one.
Josh:Okay, so somebody else points out the second thing to turn.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Okay, you go up.
Josh:There's a second one.
Josh:You turn it.
Josh:Damien will say, okay, that's two down.
Josh:There's six of them in total.
Josh:So, you know, just keep working.
Jorge:Next one.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:You do the next one.
Josh:With the third one, there's another clanking sound and the lava flow has gotten slightly smaller.
Josh:At this point, all of your ice is just sublimated away.
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:So Divex is going to say into Sauron, hey, so I feel like trouble is going to happen soon, but to prepare for it, I think what you should do is you should act as if that sword is some sort of a staff for summoning and pretend to summon three powerful beings to fight on your behalf whenever shit hits the fan.
Jorge:I was going to, but all right, fine, fine.
Jorge:All right, all right.
Noah:We are bound to obey the pact.
Mike:If you want to ready the fake summoning action.
Josh:Sorry, I just... Invisibility Sphere is a weird spell, because as best I can tell... Oh, never mind.
Josh:Ignore me.
Josh:I missed the first sentence.
Mike:Wait, what's the first sentence?
Josh:It's you and all targets are invisible except to each other.
Josh:I thought from first reading of the spell that you were all invisible to everyone, including each other, and you just kind of had to hold hands as you were walking around.
Mike:Oh, yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:This board is a family heirloom.
Jorge:Have I told you about it yet?
Josh:You haven't told me anything about it.
Josh:Just keep doing the pillars.
Jorge:I can summon my ancestors, like my grandfather and his great-grandfather, and his great-great-grandfather through it, and they can help me.
Noah:not your dad we'll do this
Mike:Just keep doing the pillars.
Mike:Once something shows up, then you fake summon.
Josh:So, at the click of the third pillar, as you start to look for the fourth one, some of those ripples in the lava, which have become interested as you've been disrupting its flow, will jump out of the lava.
Jorge:I start doing a weird dance to some of them.
Josh:And you see this humanoid glob of magma and fire jumps out of the lava and lands on the platform that you're currently standing on.
Josh:And being the only person in the room will immediately beeline towards you.
Josh:There are three in total that have just jumped out of the lava.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:I was doing my little summoning dance, but as my free action, because I can, I summon my blood armor, still keeping my old man face on.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:And I swig.
Mike:I think that's fine.
Jorge:I would exploit vulnerability first while I first see him.
Josh:All right.
Noah:Justin.
Noah:Josh, can we do other prep actions before this all goes down?
Josh:Well, this has happened.
Josh:You can do something and then we're entering initiative.
Josh:Also, where are you guys standing?
Josh:I know you're all grouped up because you're invisible.
Jorge:Where would this valve be?
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Do you put me there?
Josh:Valve 3 is this one.
Jorge:Cool.
Josh:So this was 1.
Josh:Sorry, this was 1.
Josh:This was 2.
Josh:This is 3.
Josh:So the ones that haven't been hit yet are this one, this one, and this one that's collapsed in the lava.
Mike:So this spell specifically provides for in-battle and out-of-battle differences.
Mike:It cannot be used in battle.
Mike:So if it's active, it has at most the first round.
Mike:So you guys are invisible until you leave or the end of the first round.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Can I do a deceptive initiative?
Josh:Who are you deceiving?
Noah:Can we do stealth initiative too?
Jorge:Just because I feel like this is the only time I can ever get one.
Mike:The sprites.
Josh:Yeah, I'll let you.
Josh:They pop out and they're like, an old man.
Josh:You definitely can do... The three of you in the invisible bubble can do either perception or stealth.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:It's your choice.
Josh:I should make an encounter.
Josh:Okay, now you can do it.
Mike:How do I see my attributes?
Mike:I forgot which I have better.
Mike:The skills?
Jorge:I just put all my modifiers as a circumstance because it was easier to do.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:They do not expect a actually spry but still older Oreskian that happens to be a vampire.
Noah:Wow, terrible.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Damn, I'm going last with my 31 modifier.
Josh:Great.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So, Damien will yell, Look out!
Josh:Something just dropped out of the lava!
Josh:Just run!
Josh:Um...
Josh:Lev will see the three of these things jump out of the lava and start beelining towards you.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:It is your turn.
Jorge:Okay, I will roll my esoteric check.
Josh:This is too friendly.
Tanner:I'm not hearing them.
Noah:Thank you.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:Do I have this mute?
Tanner:Oh, I just had it low.
Jorge:I've got a 48 on my esoteric check.
Josh:48 on your esoteric check.
Noah:Hmm.
Josh:I think that is a success.
Josh:That's a crit if it does anything.
Jorge:OK, I get to know all their weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
Josh:They are resistant to cold and fire.
Jorge:Not immune?
Josh:No.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:They have cold 15 and fire 15 resistance.
Josh:They are not immune.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:And that's it.
Josh:They are not immune or weak to anything.
Jorge:Cool.
Jorge:So I'll do my personal antithesis.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:That's just one action.
Jorge:two actions I'm going to charge as an old man and I'm going to kind of wobble a little bit and then say for my grandfathers and my great grandfather and then I'm going to swing okay
Noah:you you
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:I do have Keen, so that's also a crit, if that wasn't a crit.
Josh:A 49 is already a crit.
Jorge:Dope.
Jorge:Damage plus the, yeah, that was not great.
Jorge:Wait, was that crit?
Josh:It was a crit.
Josh:I'll just click the double button.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:And it's going to get an additional,
Jorge:eight.
Jorge:No, it's going to have my personal antithesis, which is going to be another eight, plus the three damage from my regalia, plus another six for my weapon feature thing.
Josh:You already have the six from the greater weapon specialization.
Josh:Unless this is a different thing.
Jorge:No, it's a different thing.
Jorge:If I attack something that is, yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I think I asked this last time.
Josh:I'm going to ask this again.
Josh:Please, all of you, compile things that are not included and write them down and then send them to me so I can fix it for the future.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:So there's another... Yeah.
Josh:Yep.
Jorge:17.
Josh:I have subtracted that.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:You took a good chunk off.
Josh:It's not bloodied or anything, but you definitely did damage.
Jorge:Yeah, I'll attack again.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:34 hits.
Jorge:Dope.
Jorge:Yeah, that first roll was actually really garbage.
Jorge:And then plus another 17.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:It is now bloodied.
Jorge:Can it be on fire out of curiosity?
Josh:It is already on fire.
Josh:It's already on fire.
Mike:Ooh, is it taking damage?
Jorge:OK, because my rune could set him on fire.
Jorge:But I, yeah.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:That brings us to the sprite's turns.
Josh:This sprite is going to leap over that stuff so they're flanked.
Josh:And thus off guard.
Josh:And then it will attempt to bite you.
Josh:You watch as its face kind of cools slightly so that it can form a jaw that then just pulls all the way open and attempts to engulf you.
Josh:How do you guys target?
Josh:What button do you press?
Mike:the target button.
Jorge:I just click.
Josh:Oh, you can just click.
Jorge:I got him.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:46.
Tanner:Thank you.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:So this is one that's attacking or two?
Josh:One is attacking.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:I think it's a crit.
Jorge:Yes, it's a crit.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Let's roll critical damage.
Josh:Does it?
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:I think it's going to use thermal mastery.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:I don't know if it knows that that's not going to do much.
Josh:It's 56 damage split between piercing and cold.
Josh:It's 7 points of cold damage.
Jorge:It says 14 on my side.
Josh:Oh, yeah, it's 7 times 2.
Jorge:Yeah, double, double.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Sounds good.
Josh:That was its second attack, and then I think its third attack is... Its last attack was a successful strike, so it's going to trip you, or attempt to trip you.
Jorge:Mm-hmm.
Josh:It's going to make an Athletics check against your Reflex DC.
Josh:It got a 47.
Jorge:That's my worst one.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Let's do it.
Jorge:Mine's a 24, so yeah.
Josh:There's no way it's a 24.
Jorge:My reflex saves a 24, so I'm assuming it's a 34.
Josh:Oh, so it's a 34.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:That is still a crit success.
Josh:So you are prone, and you take... 6 bludgeoning damage.
Tanner:Brutal.
Josh:Fortunately, being prone is the most optimal place you can be on the battlefield, so you're fine.
Jorge:Oh!
Mike:You've got them right where you want them.
Jorge:Yes!
Josh:That is the end of its turn.
Jorge:I have you right where I want you, young man.
Jorge:I don't know if you know this, but being prone is the most optimal position to be in conflict.
Josh:So you should...
Josh:Okay, so from Damien's perspective, this old man hobbles in here, pulls out a sword that looks way too big for him, and then immediately he hits one, and then he gets surrounded by three sprites that have just dropped out of the lava, knocked him down, and are just beating him.
Josh:Because Ignisbrite 3 is also going to come for Liv, who is now on the ground, surrounded by these things.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:It was one action to move.
Tanner:you you
Josh:I think it's going to... Lunar Burst you.
Josh:Is that better than...
Josh:What does prone do?
Josh:Does prone affect reflex saves at all?
Mike:it increases them.
Josh:You're off guard.
Josh:Minus two penalty to attack rolls.
Josh:You can only crawl and stand.
Josh:If you're prone, you can choose to take cover.
Josh:That's a thing you can only do while prone.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:even looking up,
Josh:Minus two against AC.
Josh:It doesn't affect reflex at all.
Josh:Okay, so it's just going to try and bite you then.
Josh:There's no point in it trying to flare you.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So let's just do an attack on you then.
Josh:That was atrocious.
Jorge:Yes.
Josh:It's going to try one more time.
Josh:36.
Josh:Oh, it should hit.
Jorge:It does it.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Great.
Josh:So we'll do damage there.
Josh:That is 25 points of damage.
Josh:Seven cold again.
Jorge:I like to just press the damage button.
Jorge:It just figures out for me.
Josh:That is fair.
Josh:You have a ridiculous number of resistances in your character sheet.
Josh:Acid, cold, electricity, fire, physical, poison, and sonic.
Josh:It's just like you multiclassed into a 5e barbarian.
Jorge:Thank you.
Josh:Dumb.
Josh:Either way, that's its turn.
Josh:The three of them are just surrounding you.
Josh:Dawn, it's your turn.
Noah:Yes, I will step out of the invisibility and yell, For my grandson!
Noah:I step out and I yell, For my grandson!
Josh:Roll a deception check for me as you do so.
Tanner:you
Noah:The oath must be fulfilled!
Noah:I have been summoned!
Josh:You know, Damien doesn't actually have a lot of reason to suspect you guys, so the DC is relatively low here.
Josh:I don't know why you keep compounding the lie here for no reason.
Noah:It's just really funny.
Jorge:Keep lying.
Noah:Oh, God.
Noah:You know, I have two hero points, and I really want to do this.
Noah:I'm going to reuse a hero point.
Mike:yes the next role in
Josh:Okay, sure.
Noah:So, Josh, I get mythic proficiency in this.
Noah:Is that what's happening?
Josh:Yes.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:So what is your normal deception proficiency?
Noah:It's just trained.
Josh:Okay, so add eight.
Noah:OK.
Josh:Yeah, add eight to the next roll.
Tanner:Oh, God.
Noah:I'll just add that in.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:That success is good enough for you and also two more generations of ancestors to pop out.
Josh:Absolutely.
Noah:I will run over to this dude and spells, spells, spells spells I have things I can do I will
Josh:So, Damien thinks that this old man has somehow managed to summon his ancestors to fight and battle with him.
Josh:Yep.
Noah:I'll quicken myself, too, for fun.
Noah:Clockwork Celerity.
Josh:Sure.
Noah:It's unstable.
Tanner:Saturday.
Noah:I'll use unstable redundancies.
Noah:It's fine.
Noah:I'm quickened.
Noah:First, I have three actions.
Noah:I will cast Mirror Image on myself, because this is the best spell in the game.
Noah:Then, I will punch this guy with magic.
Noah:Igni Sprite 1.
Noah:Is that the right number?
Noah:Yeah, sure.
Tanner:Are we doing a grab and go that day?
Noah:Oh, that's right.
Noah:Oh, that was such a bad roll.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:Nah, screw it.
Noah:I'm going to use my other hero point.
Noah:Why not?
Noah:I want to impress this guy.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:So you are normally expert in this attack, so you can add an additional six to this next roll.
Mike:My god.
Noah:I have mythic proficiency, Josh.
Josh:Yeah, it is more applicable than the other, like, than...
Josh:How do you keep doing that?
Josh:Yeah, that's a super crit.
Noah:Mythic.
Josh:You're doing great.
Noah:um,
Jorge:What's funny about the mythic dice is you can get higher than you would without rolling it.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Yes.
Tanner:you
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Not only can you get higher than you would without rolling it, it allows you to do actions that you have to be proficient in without proficiency.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:In that you can use a hero point to attempt to pick a lock, even if you don't have proficiency in thievery, and you would get a plus 10.
Josh:Or plus 10 plus your level.
Josh:Like, it... It's weird.
Noah:Oh, that wasn't a crit.
Noah:Okay, so it should be 108.
Josh:Okay, so...
Noah:Sorry.
Noah:That is my turn.
Josh:I will double that.
Josh:That's fine.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:The Igni Spray isn't quite bloodied, but it is close.
Josh:That's a lot of damage up front.
Noah:I yell,
Josh:Okay.
Josh:As we move on to Igni Spray 2, Damien will yell over the loudspeaker, Old man's ancestor!
Josh:They're gonna keep coming out until you close the gate.
Josh:You guys have to do something.
Noah:I'm the grandfather.
Noah:I yell, Father, close the gate!
Jorge:Thank you.
Noah:See who shows up.
Josh:Acne Sprite 2 is going to continue trying to beat up Lev because Lev is still on the ground.
Josh:So we're just going to do that.
Josh:It doesn't have a lot of other fun actions it can take right now.
Josh:Oh, actually, when does it continue Solar Flare?
Josh:Oh, that's when it gets to... Oh, that's my fault.
Josh:That's fine.
Josh:Okay, so its first strike on Lev is going to be a 44.
Noah:Glimpse for redemption.
Jorge:hits.
Josh:Oh, shit.
Josh:I mean, yeah, that's fine.
Josh:It just won't do any damage this round.
Noah:I just yell, you will not form a member of my clan!
Noah:And radiant light echoes out from me.
Josh:And its next attack is a 31.
Josh:It's just so shaken by this ancestor that I don't think it has a concept of ancestry.
Josh:It just misses its second time, and then its third go is a crit.
Jorge:No.
Noah:I got double.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:A natural 20 for a 39.
Josh:Which...
Josh:So we are going to do some damage here.
Jorge:That's okay.
Josh:Not a ton.
Josh:That wasn't a great roll.
Josh:46 damage.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:That brings us to Great Grandfather.
Josh:There are three left.
Mike:Uh, so which one of, what's the remaining one?
Mike:We did three, we have three left.
Noah:You know?
Mike:Uh, should I take, yeah, should I, well, should I take this map at face value for what's dilapidated?
Tanner:So which one is four?
Mike:Okay.
Josh:Yes.
Josh:The one in the bottom left corner is actually fallen over and half submerged.
Mike:uh so is there a next one or can i pick any yeah okay um
Josh:I don't know.
Josh:Is there a next one?
Tanner:I thought we already looked.
Jorge:Yeah, we already looked at all of these with the... Does he need the thing that's on Lev?
Tanner:Or I thought we at least got four.
Josh:You got three.
Josh:I will let you know where the fourth one is.
Noah:you you
Josh:We can say that you looked through the spyglass and saw the fourth one before these guys jumped out.
Josh:That would be this one up here.
Josh:Top right.
Mike:I guess I have to use two things of movement?
Tanner:The baton.
Josh:Yes.
Mike:Oh.
Mike:Then Divex will cast... Who wants to be in the thick of it?
Mike:Does anyone want to be in the thick of it?
Jorge:In the thick of it.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:First of his name.
Jorge:I'm already in the thick of it.
Mike:I know, but you'll not be in the thick of it.
Mike:I'm going to cast Collective Transposition and move two people.
Jorge:Move Henrik in there.
Mike:okay uh so so move so move yourself uh next to me
Josh:I volunteer Henrik to be in the dog pile.
Jorge:I can put my great-great-great-grandfather in there.
Tanner:It is I, Breckin.
Josh:Okay, so Lev and Henrik are switching places.
Josh:Oh, nice.
Mike:Well, I can put them anywhere.
Mike:They don't have to switch places.
Mike:Yeah, Lev will be next to me.
Jorge:Can I be standing?
Jorge:Is that possible?
Josh:So why does Henrik have to be in the middle?
Noah:I can feel that
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:Well, I asked if anyone wanted to be in the thick of it.
Tanner:Oh, so I don't have to go there.
Mike:No, yeah, you don't have to go there.
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:You can roll to save, but I'm going to put you there.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:If you're an unwilling creature, you can... Okay.
Tanner:No, just move me one over to here.
Mike:uh and then what i gotta grab the baton from lev or that a full that's gonna be a full action from breckinson of course uh it it's uh sixth level and let's see uh no it just moves you
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Freckinson.
Josh:Yep.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Can he make me standing up while he does this, like, 8th level spell?
Josh:No.
Jorge:Damn it.
Josh:Does this say you can change if they're prone or not?
Josh:Yeah, no.
Josh:You have been moved.
Jorge:That's fine.
Josh:You are still on the ground, but you have been moved.
Mike:So this is Great-Grandfather.
Jorge:That's fine.
Mike:So Divex will cast a spell.
Josh:Sure.
Mike:Go, Great-Great-Grandfather!
Mike:Grandson, come here!
Tanner:We got you so good, idiot.
Mike:And then he'll throw Henrik into the thick of it and then pull Lefnir to him and then grab the baton and then head over to...
Jorge:When we meet him, he's going to be like, why did you lie to me so much?
Jorge:I want to be like, we don't.
Mike:Unfortunately, I don't have the... This is why we don't have friends.
Jorge:You want to join the weft?
Noah:You can play sick pranks, bro.
Josh:So dumb.
Mike:Yeah.
Noah:Bro, we're gods with a small g. You wanna hang?
Josh:Okay, so you teleported them as one action, you grabbed the baton as the second action, and you've run over to this pillar as the third action?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:It is Henrik's turn.
Josh:And as it's Henrik's turn, I guess I have to ask, why did you just teleport Lev to the pillar?
Mike:I guess I could have.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Henry, it's your turn.
Jorge:Well, that way Davix can continue pressing them while Lev... Could Lev also have handed... Lev would have known this.
Noah:you you
Mike:Yeah.
Jorge:Could he also have handled the thing?
Josh:Yeah, I'll let you hand both of them over.
Josh:I will warn you, it is an action to use the baton and an action to use the spyglass.
Jorge:Nico.
Mike:That's fine.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:All right, first thing I'm going to do is hit this sprite one with warp glass.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Let me just check that this is accurate.
Tanner:Please hold.
Mike:This dude's getting a show.
Noah:Whoa.
Mike:He's just sitting there eating popcorn in the control room watching this go down.
Tanner:Good, good, good.
Mike:He's like, what?
Mike:What a twist.
Mike:I never saw this coming.
Tanner:I hit critically.
Josh:Yes, you do.
Tanner:I have Greater Frost, which I believe ignores resistance.
Jorge:It does.
Josh:Yeah, it does.
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:So I'll do 74 points of damage to him.
Tanner:Is he living?
Josh:He is still living.
Josh:He's very injured, but he is still alive.
Tanner:Okay, please hold.
Tanner:I need to roll for Warp Glass.
Josh:As we all must.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:That's a 3.
Tanner:He's dazzled.
Josh:Oh, nice.
Tanner:I don't know what that does, but I'm happy about it.
Josh:His vision is concealed, if that's his only sets, which means all of you are concealed to them.
Tanner:And then I will strike him again.
Josh:Concealed means that they have to make a DC5 flat check to target you.
Tanner:I think this is going to be a certain strike.
Mike:Yeah, I mean, the way he says it, I think I'm going to do a certain strike.
Josh:Which one?
Tanner:Yes.
Josh:I feel like I'm obligated.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Thank you.
Noah:Somebody's got to say it.
Josh:He knows what he's doing.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:Just egging us on.
Tanner:Oh.
Tanner:I got a 32.
Josh:Unfortunately, that is a miss.
Tanner:He's going to take 14 points of piercing damage.
Josh:He is still standing, but he is pierced.
Tanner:And with my final action, I will raise my shield.
Josh:Excellent.
Jorge:Yeah, so I am going to use my mirror to appear 15 feet over here.
Jorge:I like to create a duplicate of myself standing over here.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Perfect.
Jorge:And then I will take a swipe over at 3.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Excellent.
Jorge:I'm going to give myself a plus two to hit because it thinks I'm still on the ground.
Tanner:oh man
Josh:You are still on the ground.
Jorge:But my mirror version can be standing.
Josh:Abbott?
Jorge:That's what we've been doing the entire time.
Jorge:I thought.
Josh:Halfway, I've let you get out of...
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:I will allow it now, and I will not allow it going forward, because that's not how that's supposed to be used.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:No.
Josh:So that's actually a 34, which does hit.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:Plus 17.
Jorge:And that fire still should go through.
Josh:It doesn't.
Jorge:OK.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Anything else?
Jorge:Yes.
Jorge:Swipe again.
Josh:That misses.
Jorge:Does it critically miss?
Josh:No.
Jorge:So I still do one point of damage, and then I get to apply.
Josh:Right.
Jorge:So it's still 18.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:That doesn't seem right, but okay.
Jorge:And then I get one more strike.
Josh:That's so much damage.
Tanner:That dice is crazy.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:Just go for it.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah, 38 will hit.
Jorge:Cool.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Plus the flat set.
Josh:Yep, yep, yep.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:I am aware.
Jorge:And then I fast heal a little bit.
Josh:He is bloodied.
Jorge:Cool.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:It is Akene Sprite 1's turn.
Josh:They are blinded.
Josh:So I think they're going to do something that doesn't require seeing people.
Josh:It's going to do a Lunar Burst.
Jorge:Which one is this?
Josh:So this is 1.
Josh:Up by none.
Jorge:I can't hit him from here.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:It's going to do the same thing.
Josh:Its jaw pulls open.
Tanner:Oh, is it manipulate?
Tanner:Can I hit him?
Josh:It is just cold and occult.
Tanner:Wow, can't hit him.
Noah:This first one is not my reflex, and should have been, but it was not.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:A, like, mist will emanate out of the mouth and then explode in a ten-foot radius.
Josh:So, Hendrik and Dawn, I need both of you to make reflex saves, please.
Josh:Actually...
Josh:10 feet hit Lev?
Josh:I think it does as well.
Josh:Yes, Lev, your mirror is 10 feet away, so you also need to be reflexive.
Jorge:This is, is this magic?
Tanner:I got a 35, which is probably not going to be enough.
Noah:I got a 38.
Josh:This is cold and occult.
Jorge:I'll reroll that.
Josh:Those are the only tags.
Jorge:I'll use my last hero point there.
Jorge:Yikes.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Okay, so what did we get?
Josh:Henrik got a 35, Don got a 38, Lev got a 29.
Josh:Yes, you used a hero point, so we need to add 6 to that.
Tanner:Would Lev have theoretically gotten like a 33?
Tanner:Is that still a failure?
Josh:So you actually got a 35.
Jorge:Oh, cool.
Josh:Thank you, Tender.
Josh:So a 35 is actually a success.
Noah:Oh.
Jorge:Whoa.
Jorge:Thank you, Henrik.
Jorge:Thank you, great, great grandfather.
Tanner:That means I got a critical rate.
Josh:So those of you who critically succeed, is it just Henrik who critically succeeds?
Josh:I believe so.
Josh:So Henrik, you're going to take no damage.
Josh:Lev and Dawn, you're both going to take half damage.
Jorge:Cool.
Josh:You're going to take 21 points of cold damage.
Josh:Sorry, 8 points of cold damage.
Jorge:Who will have my resistance?
Josh:Yeah, it's dumb.
Josh:And then I guess it'll make a flat check to try and just bite.
Josh:I don't know.
Josh:Neither of you look particularly appetizing.
Josh:Don, there's four of you, and Henrik is made out of spikes.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:So... It's fine.
Mike:Thank you.
Tanner:No.
Josh:Let's just do the flat check to see if we can even attack anyway.
Josh:We can't.
Josh:We're gonna go for Mirror Man.
Josh:No, we're not.
Josh:We're gonna go for Shield Guy.
Josh:Does a natural 1 for a 28-pin.
Josh:Damn.
Josh:Next up is IgmeSprite3.
Josh:Who... I think it's just going to do the exact same thing.
Tanner:Yeah, that tracks.
Josh:Henrik and Lev make reflex saves.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:They have to use their Lunar Burst before they can use their Solar Flare.
Noah:No.
Josh:Okay?
Noah:No.
Tanner:Yeah, tell me about it.
Tanner:Oh, man.
Tanner:Do we think... Wait, Josh, did you explicitly say that 35 was the DC or just that it was a success?
Josh:No, I told you that the 35 succeeded.
Tanner:I'll use my points to get to 34.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:The DC is 34.
Josh:Henrik once again takes no damage.
Jorge:Good job.
Noah:Yeah.
Jorge:Good job.
Josh:Lev succeeded, so he's going to take half damage.
Tanner:This is why you always gamble, folks.
Josh:That's going to be 10 points of damage.
Josh:How is it still 8?
Josh:Oh, it's 42 to 43.
Josh:That makes sense.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:That's crazy.
Josh:He's going to try and bite Lev.
Jorge:Yes.
Noah:you you
Josh:That was a 43 hit.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Is that where you're staying, by the way?
Josh:Can I delete the other one?
Josh:Or am I keeping both of them?
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:It's technically until the end of my next turn, but you can delete it if none of you guys are going to attack him.
Josh:I'll move you over there and I will remove the prone in flat-footed conditions.
Tanner:um i might do something i have to see where what is this i'm gonna i have shield warden today from my combat flexibility
Josh:Okay, so he hit, so we'll roll some damage.
Noah:Thank you.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Oh.
Tanner:I can shield block for an adjacent ally.
Josh:Nice.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So it was 33 damage.
Josh:26 piercing, 7 frost.
Tanner:So the shield has hardness 17.
Tanner:So we can reduce it by 17.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So instead of taking 25 damage, you take 8.
Josh:Again.
Jorge:I take it.
Jorge:Don't.
Tanner:uh the shield would take more than eight right because it wouldn't be affected by his resistance so that would be 16 16 damage i'll do that here too
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Correct.
Noah:Oh, God.
Josh:That's off of the 33.
Josh:I buy it.
Josh:Okay, well, while you're doing that, another sprite will pop out of the lava.
Tanner:Oh, brutal.
Mike:I crack open and I take a sip.
Josh:It's Don's turn.
Tanner:Very dumb.
Tanner:Thank you.
Mike:Take 10d10 spicy damage.
Mike:It's McDonald's Sprite.
Noah:Oh.
Noah:Oh.
Josh:McDonald's Sprite is better than regular Sprite.
Josh:This is not a McDonald's Sprite.
Jorge:it has,
Mike:It's true.
Josh:It's an Igni Sprite.
Mike:Oh.
Josh:It's different.
Josh:It's actually a Bulgay, but it's an Igni Sprite.
Noah:Um.
Josh:This is what it's called.
Noah:First act.
Josh:I didn't name it.
Mike:He's just so disappointed in himself.
Josh:Sorry.
Noah:I'll haste myself again.
Noah:I only have one prepared.
Josh:You should cast mirror image again so you have six mirror images.
Josh:I assume it stacks.
Noah:I don't know if it stacks or not.
Noah:Okay, well, I'm still hasted.
Noah:I will step.
Noah:I will strike this fella right here.
Noah:Maybe, if I can find anything.
Noah:Okay, okay.
Noah:Oh my god, bad roll.
Noah:Well, that's not going to do it.
Noah:I will... Two more actions.
Noah:Oh, it does not exist?
Josh:So what's interesting is both Mirror Image and Invisibility Sphere are legacy spells that do not have a remastered counterpart.
Josh:They were excluded from the remaster.
Tanner:Which ones?
Josh:I wonder why.
Mike:Uh...
Josh:Yeah, just not exist.
Noah:Oh, God.
Noah:Oh.
Josh:Invisibility Sphere and Mirror Image are both legacy only.
Josh:They were not remastered.
Jorge:Maybe not of people... Wait, invisibility?
Josh:Invisibility Sphere, specifically.
Jorge:Maybe people didn't really use it that much, so it's not worth their time to port this over.
Noah:It's a great spell.
Noah:I don't know what they're talking about.
Noah:I'll just try and attack.
Josh:My guess is that it has something to do with the D&D IP, but I feel like if it was that, then they would have just changed the name again from, you know, Dimension Door to Teleportation or whatever.
Jorge:Hmm.
Josh:That misses again, unfortunately.
Josh:Is he?
Noah:Even though he's flat-footed?
Noah:Oh, neat.
Josh:Oh, he is flat-footed.
Josh:I apologize.
Josh:That should hit.
Josh:Yes, that does hit because he's flat-footed.
Noah:52 Sonic.
Noah:Some of that's bludgeoning.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:That is enough.
Josh:You just bludgeon this spirit of fire and lava into nothingness.
Josh:It just dissolves into the air.
Josh:It ceases to exist.
Noah:I got one more action.
Noah:Can't really do anything from right here.
Noah:Oh, yeah, sure.
Noah:Why not?
Noah:I'll use Bone Maw.
Noah:I always feel I have this.
Noah:And I will just yell a quip at Igni Sprite 3.
Noah:And I'll yell, You shall not defeat the... What's her name?
Josh:Unfortunately, they do not have a language So I don't think it does anything but Damien is impressed You hear cheering over the loudspeaker
Noah:Benson?
Noah:Berkson?
Noah:Burke?
Jorge:Berkson.
Noah:You shall not defeat the... You shall fall before the might of Burekson and Burekson and Burek!
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Jorge:Bjergsen.
Jorge:There we go.
Noah:No.
Noah:No.
Noah:Okay.
Noah:Okay, well that's my turn.
Josh:Okay, it is Ignisprite 2's turn.
Josh:I think he's going to try and... No, I think they're really focused on beating up the old man.
Jorge:But I'm in Henrik's aura, so it doesn't get flanked.
Josh:Just because he's doing so much damage to him.
Josh:So it's one action to get Lev flanked again.
Josh:Action 2.
Tanner:Right, he's not flanked.
Josh:Okay, so then that 35 doesn't hit.
Jorge:Yes!
Noah:unflankable
Josh:Does that 40 hit?
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:That's going to be 20, and I'm sure reduced down to zero for you.
Josh:Oh, 24, right, because it's mostly piercing, which you don't have anything against.
Tanner:I think he's got one piercing.
Josh:He does.
Jorge:I do.
Josh:He has one piercing.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:So long as it's not adamantine, which it is.
Josh:That is the end of its turn, though.
Josh:It is Divex's turn.
Jorge:I could use some help, Henrik.
Mike:yay uh my mo i can't move and then action and then move i have to move all at once i have this stride and then uh yeah i'm five feet away um can i take a
Jorge:I'm a great, great grad follower.
Tanner:I'm here.
Tanner:I'm here.
Jorge:I am low.
Josh:You're his great-great-grandson.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Correct.
Tanner:Well, are you, oh, you're not close enough yet?
Josh:No, you're close enough, I would say.
Josh:I will let you interact with it from that distance.
Mike:Oh, okay.
Josh:I know it's technically like, but you're at the base.
Mike:I'll stick the thing in and then turn it and close the valve or whatever.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:It looks like an electric plug.
Josh:You just plug it in and you rotate it.
Noah:Thank you.
Mike:Oh, okay.
Josh:But absolutely, you do that, there's a clanking sound, you hear that something has shifted.
Mike:Then can I get the spyglass out or the...
Josh:Yes, absolutely.
Josh:And action to use the spyglass, and you see that this one is now glowing.
Mike:fantastic um let's see is this spell worth it
Tanner:That's number five.
Josh:Bottom right.
Josh:Yes.
Tanner:So we're affecting the lava flow with each of these, yes?
Josh:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:So is the picture still accurate in terms of the location of the lava?
Josh:Yes, the lava hasn't started to drain, it's just the flow coming in is reducing.
Tanner:Fair.
Mike:I can explain.
Mike:I cast Time Jump.
Tanner:I don't know what that means.
Noah:great spell.
Josh:It means he jumped through time.
Mike:You leap forward, blah, blah, blah.
Mike:You gain two actions.
Mike:Each must be used to leap, stride, step, stand.
Mike:So I just get two.
Mike:It's just a spell that's one action.
Mike:I get two strides.
Josh:Yeah, you use one action to walk twice.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Walking twice at the same time is running, so you just run from one pillar to the other, I take it.
Mike:But if I walk twice at the same time, twice in a minute, I'll be stupefied four.
Josh:Okay, good to know.
Mike:Yeah.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Yeah, you just can't use it again if you don't want to get stupefied for the rest of this encounter.
Tanner:Very well.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Is that the end of your turn, then?
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Henrik.
Tanner:First, I'm going to do Battle Medicine on Levmir.
Jorge:Perfect.
Tanner:DC 30.
Tanner:Um...
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:The... Our heart gave us item bonuses, right?
Tanner:That's how that... Oh, on who you are.
Josh:It depends on the heart.
Tanner:I... Okay.
Josh:Yours is a knight of bonus, though.
Tanner:But it's a three.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:I got a critical success.
Tanner:So he gets 57 points of healing.
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:Then I'm going to strike this sprite that's right in front of me.
Josh:Nice.
Jorge:Awesome.
Josh:Absolutely.
Mike:Strike the sprite.
Tanner:Was it warp glad?
Mike:Strike the sprite.
Mike:Strike the sprite.
Noah:Wow.
Tanner:Ooh.
Tanner:Oh.
Tanner:Well, I hit.
Tanner:Natural two, but it still works.
Mike:I just, like, looked over to the chat to see if it hit, and it did.
Mike:I was like, wait a second.
Tanner:We take those 37 points.
Josh:Oh, hey, absolutely.
Josh:You have hit him, and he has Lunar Burst, so now he's going to Solar Flare.
Tanner:I don't know what any of that means.
Josh:I would love it if... Sorry, one second.
Jorge:Does that have a manipulate?
Josh:I don't actually think it does.
Josh:One second.
Josh:Solar Flare is Fire and Occult.
Noah:Yep.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:That's it.
Josh:Who is in this radius?
Josh:Everyone except Divex.
Josh:So Don, Henrik, and Lev, please do me the honor of rolling a reflex save, I believe.
Tanner:to raise from my shield.
Josh:Yes, reflex save.
Mike:I really don't have a shadow siphon prepared.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:39 is a success.
Josh:43 is a success up to a crit.
Josh:Dawn is a 32, so that's a failure.
Josh:So you're going to take full damage.
Josh:Liv is going to take half damage.
Josh:As a burst of fire expands out of the spray.
Josh:36 points of fire damage.
Noah:Josh, I'm going to cast... I've had the spell for a while, and there he said, Eat fire!
Noah:And I will eat fire.
Jorge:That's crazy.
Tanner:Oh.
Jorge:I'm going to activate my crown, my fire-eating crown to also eat fire up to 25.
Noah:Uh, I'm...
Josh:That's ridiculous.
Josh:So you have resistance 5.
Josh:So you just take 31 damage instead of 36.
Josh:And until the end of your next turn, you can belch smoke.
Noah:Yeah.
Jorge:Okay, so I can regain.
Jorge:So just after taking any remaining fire damage, you regain number of hit points equal to 25 or the fire damage dealt.
Josh:What gives this to you?
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:Greater crown of the fire eater greater.
Josh:Do you have that on your guy?
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Do you?
Jorge:Oh, no, I got it.
Jorge:Oh.
Jorge:Where's the greater one?
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:I have that.
Jorge:I don't have the other thing equipped, the Popat.
Jorge:It's not really useful.
Josh:what how dare you um that's fine uh just take the damage and then increase like give yourself 15 health back uh
Mike:Oh, Pat.
Noah:Go Pat.
Jorge:Yeah, I don't know how to activate this reaction.
Jorge:Can they?
Jorge:There you go.
Jorge:So it's 8, and then I'll 25 minus 8.
Noah:Go Pat.
Jorge:Is that how it goes?
Josh:Sorry, one second.
Jorge:With the healing?
Josh:Oh, the healing, yes, is 25 minus 8.
Josh:Okay, Henrik, you still have two actions, I think.
Noah:I have one.
Tanner:I have one, but I'm going to use it to raise my field.
Josh:Oh, okay.
Josh:Then it is Lev's turn.
Jorge:Cool.
Noah:Okay.
Jorge:3 looks pretty hurt, or?
Jorge:OK, I'm going to do my esoteric thing on 2 then.
Josh:Yeah, three looks pretty good.
Tanner:I think two might be the one that you hit round one.
Jorge:Oh, it was?
Josh:Two is also hurt.
Josh:Two and three are both hurt.
Jorge:Oh.
Josh:Four is fine.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Yeah, I'll hit 2 then.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Fuck that guy.
Jorge:So close to 19 on the screen.
Josh:39 hits.
Jorge:Not great, not great.
Jorge:All right.
Josh:I've managed to get into some weird targeting mode where the game thinks I am Lev, and I don't know how to get out of it.
Mike:Just clicking on all the Igni sprites.
Josh:How have I done this?
Jorge:The first one was 29 plus 17, and another one is 107.
Noah:Oh my gosh.
Josh:Uh, sorry, one second.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:I just, I don't know how to... I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to get out.
Mike:I just see these red dots come up in the roster in the bottom right.
Mike:Anytime Josh clicks on one of these, he's just clicking through.
Josh:Okay, sorry.
Josh:Igni Sprite 2, right?
Josh:I didn't even get a chance to apply the first damage.
Jorge:So 29 plus 17, and then it was crit.
Josh:One second.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:You did 90 damage on the second strike?
Josh:And then... Okay, well, that is just enough.
Tanner:Oh my god.
Noah:All right.
Jorge:And it's actually 107, but yeah.
Josh:Yeah, it's dead.
Josh:You've murdered it.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:So I strike three with my final action.
Jorge:Wait, wait, that was only two strikes.
Jorge:Never mind, I strike with just my next strike.
Josh:yeah you get four uh yeah 37 minutes no
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Sorry, give me one second.
Jorge:I'm just going to put a spirit.
Jorge:I just put the 17 in there.
Jorge:She has to calculate that.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Uh, great.
Josh:It's looking terrible, but it is still standing.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:I still have one more hit.
Josh:Yeah, I know.
Tanner:Well, Josh, are you in like in the top left?
Josh:Haha, fuck you.
Jorge:Well, I kind of hear a point.
Jorge:I don't know if that's worth it, honestly.
Josh:Still fuck you.
Josh:It's Igni Sprite 4's turn.
Josh:I don't, like... Okay.
Josh:I cannot move this character anymore.
Tanner:Are you in the targeting mode?
Tanner:Like the target button?
Noah:These fools.
Josh:I don't know how that happened.
Jorge:Fuck.
Josh:I've not once clicked that button in my life.
Josh:There must be some hockey I hit by accident.
Josh:Okay, that's fine.
Josh:He moved.
Josh:Liv is still not flanked, but they are just going to keep attacking you because, frankly... Yeah, they did walk over here, so... I get a hero point.
Tanner:Can Lev make an opportunity strike?
Josh:That's a thing.
Mike:Thank you.
Josh:Yeah, that hits.
Jorge:In the name of my father, his father, and their father, I will smite thee down as well.
Noah:Thank you.
Tanner:Bye.
Josh:Okay, that's the first time it's been hit, that's why.
Josh:But first, you're going to dodge an attack.
Josh:Let's see if you dodge.
Josh:Oh, actually, he couldn't have done that one because he moved, so ignore that one regardless.
Josh:It's three's turn.
Josh:He's going to do a lunar burst so he can do a solar flare So I need Henrik and Liv to make reflex saves Okay, so none of you take any damage then he's just gonna try and bite we'll do Henrik just to shake things up for funsies
Tanner:Oh, good rolls.
Tanner:No damage.
Tanner:Ah.
Josh:43.
Tanner:Oh, he got me.
Josh:Good.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Take 23 damage.
Jorge:But he has the resistances, right?
Tanner:Not to those, but I'll shield block it, though.
Tanner:Reduce it by 17.
Tanner:So now it's 6 damage.
Tanner:Is that math?
Tanner:Anyone got that?
Tanner:Yes, 6.
Mike:Yeah.
Jorge:What happens if you press the block button?
Jorge:Does it automatically do that for you?
Tanner:Yeah, I guess it would, but I'm just going to... Oh, did someone touch it?
Josh:Henrik's shield absorbs 19 damage with an additional 4 making it through.
Josh:The shield is also damaged for 4.
Tanner:Oh, right.
Josh:Why does it think that your shield has hardness of 19?
Tanner:Because I'm in my stance, the hardness is up by two.
Tanner:I forgot about that.
Josh:Oh, nice.
Josh:So you're going to take 4 damage.
Jorge:Oh, so I should have taken two less damage before.
Noah:Oh.
Jorge:Thanks, Hanrick.
Tanner:I was looking at something.
Tanner:Okay, I'm sorry.
Tanner:That actually means the shield should have two more hit points.
Josh:It happens.
Tanner:This is very important.
Josh:before we get to Dawn, another Igni Spray is going to jump out of the lung.
Josh:How did you become Igni Spray 3 again?
Josh:There were a bunch of valid numbers.
Tanner:you
Jorge:Thank you.
Noah:I'm sorry, I missed it.
Josh:That wasn't one of them.
Mike:No.
Josh:I don't understand.
Josh:It just counted there's two, regardless of the number, and it's like, okay, you're the third one, I guess.
Josh:It is now Don's turn.
Noah:Did Divex already turn the thing on this last one?
Noah:That's the second to last one.
Tanner:And it's the second to last one.
Noah:Well then, there's a lot going on here.
Noah:I'll try and give DiveX a little more time.
Noah:I will rocket boots over to DiveX.
Josh:Okay.
Noah:And I'll say, Hello, Grandfather!
Noah:And then I'll just take the tube, insert it, and twist it.
Josh:Okay, so it's one action to get to Divex.
Josh:That's your movement.
Josh:It's an action to grab the baton from him.
Josh:And then it's an action to turn it.
Josh:So that is three actions.
Noah:Okay.
Josh:Great.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You've done that.
Josh:There's another clanking sound.
Josh:You feel that you've turned another valve somewhere.
Tanner:Now how the heck are we going to do the last one?
Tanner:It's broken.
Jorge:It's just floating over there.
Mike:We'll figure it out.
Tanner:Does it appear to be like completely detached from the ground or can we not see?
Josh:You don't see a connection to it.
Josh:That doesn't mean that there isn't one.
Tanner:Okay.
Josh:That's all three actions, right?
Josh:So it's Divex's turn?
Noah:Plug up.
Josh:Divex.
Mike:I guess I'll grab it back using an action.
Tanner:Thank you.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:yeah we'll just we'll send it and we'll find out later um i'll use uh it would be towards the top here what does it look like i would have plugged in the other ones like sure
Josh:You can roll a crafting check to try and figure out where on this one would map up with the other ones.
Josh:39, you're pretty confident it would be over here.
Mike:Yes, a public roll, please.
Noah:you you
Tanner:you
Mike:Perfect.
Mike:Let me make sure I have the dimension door.
Mike:Let me make sure I have the dimension transposition.
Josh:Don't you mean transposition?
Josh:Yes, that's what I meant when I said that.
Mike:And then can I...
Mike:Put the thing in and twist.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah, you absolutely can.
Josh:Okay, so you use an action, you twist it, you see that it turns, you hear another thing click, and then you watch as the last of the lava flow closes, revealing the way forward.
Josh:And as it does, the level of lava in the area begins to descend.
Josh:All of the sprites start screeching, and then jump back into the lava.
Jorge:Opportunity attack.
Mike:For my grandson.
Jorge:Twice.
Jorge:That guy gets hit.
Josh:Okay, sure.
Noah:Just on the way out.
Josh:Yeah?
Josh:Do damage?
Jorge:Yeah, fuck that guy.
Jorge:And then I'll do my second attack.
Josh:What do you mean you'll do your second attack?
Jorge:I have two reactions.
Josh:Yeah, does it let you do it on the same... Oh, you're doing it on the other guy?
Josh:You're just whack-whacking both of them?
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Okay, well, 61... Yeah, no, you can't be like, I used my reaction because this guy moved, and then because he's still moving, I used my reaction again.
Jorge:And I'm pretty sure that... Oh, not for the same thing, but yeah.
Josh:Which is fine.
Josh:The dilemma is solved for you, because the first guy dies from that hit.
Josh:He did not have that many health points.
Josh:The second guy does have enough health points, so he will tank the damage and continue to run as he jumps back into the lava.
Josh:And this guy will also jump into the lava.
Josh:And they both disappear.
Josh:Okay, and you hear the sound of clapping over the loudspeaker as David says, Good job, Pops!
Josh:And Pops' grandpa!
Jorge:How many rounds was this?
Josh:And Pops' grandpa's grandpa!
Josh:And Pops' grandpa's grandpa's grandpa!
Josh:You guys are awesome.
Jorge:Four?
Jorge:Three?
Josh:Four.
Jorge:Okay, so I have six times eight.
Jorge:I will heal up 48.
Jorge:Oh, yeah.
Josh:And with that, the way forward is visible.
Noah:Mmm, we did it.
Josh:Damien will say, okay, so old man, how long can you keep your family around for?
Josh:Because it'd be useful if you could just hold on to them for the time that you're here.
Jorge:I think I could probably swing it.
Mike:But we may have to hurry, grandson.
Mike:Great-grandson.
Mike:I'll say it's a run.
Jorge:You got it.
Jorge:Great, Grand Pops.
Jorge:Let's go.
Josh:Listen, yeah, the door to the next spot should be open.
Josh:The four of you, the four of you, it's crazy, can walk through there.
Tanner:Josh, before we proceed, I'll say and Saran, hey, were any of the things on that skeleton magical?
Josh:There should be a hallway, and then there's, like, a quick stop area if you want.
Josh:You can see which gears to turn in the hallway, but, like, Spike will try to get to us all the way on the other end.
Josh:And you can, yeah?
Jorge:I hand over what I found.
Jorge:It was the baton, and then there was this stone, right?
Jorge:And then there was a... Yeah.
Josh:There's like a river stone, like a black circular disc.
Mike:Dyvex will peep them.
Tanner:you
Mike:You can identify 40 items a second now.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I believe you.
Josh:I feel like you have that feat.
Josh:It is an Arcana check for both.
Mike:Perfect.
Mike:What the fuck?
Mike:I think I have a plus four plus three.
Mike:56 for the first one.
Tanner:God.
Mike:44 for the second.
Noah:Oh.
Josh:Okay, so you can easily identify both of them.
Josh:The baton is an actuating baton.
Josh:It is used to complete magic circuits.
Josh:It kind of does what it looks like it does.
Josh:There's no secret there.
Josh:The stone is actually an aeon stone.
Josh:It is a black disc aeon stone.
Tanner:you
Josh:While you're attuned to it, you receive one persistent negative damage.
Josh:And you can't heal negative damage while you're attuned to it.
Josh:But you get 10 resistance to positive damage.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:You can't heal negative damage while having it?
Josh:While having it, you cannot recover from the negative damage it inflicts.
Jorge:Oh, so it would actually be useful for me.
Mike:Are you immune to negative damage?
Jorge:Yep.
Josh:Are you immune to negative damage?
Josh:Completely?
Jorge:Same way they're immune to positive damage, yeah.
Josh:Is that true?
Jorge:The way it works is I'm immune to...
Jorge:negative damage, but negative energy heals.
Jorge:They're immune to positive damage, but positive energy heals.
Josh:Where do you get that from?
Josh:I don't know if I believe it.
Jorge:I saw that online.
Josh:It's not that I don't believe it, it's that I don't believe it.
Tanner:Uh...
Jorge:Google negative healing versus negative damage.
Josh:Well, healing is from void.
Josh:That's a different damage type.
Josh:You're thinking of void and vitality, which are different from negative and positive.
Jorge:Those are different from negative and positive.
Josh:Oh, I know they're not.
Josh:Those are the remastered.
Josh:You're absolutely correct.
Josh:You don't take void damage.
Josh:You're right.
Josh:You could actually just absolutely attune to it, and it wouldn't do any damage to you because you're immune to void damage.
Josh:That's wild.
Jorge:I just got another resistance, guys.
Josh:That's stupid.
Tanner:So wait, negative is void?
Josh:Negative is void.
Tanner:So theoretically, if you were resistance to void... Wow.
Jorge:I'm immune.
Josh:If you were resistant to void, you could attune to it as well, and it wouldn't cause any damage.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:You can hang on to it, but I just... Ah, I see.
Noah:Yeah.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:Well, you don't take positive damage, so it's not useful for you.
Mike:But he posits...
Tanner:Very well.
Josh:I don't know if that's the case.
Josh:Because, like...
Tanner:Anyway, you can hold on to it anyway.
Josh:I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure it's the vampire thing like specifies that you don't take Void I don't know if there's anything that specifies that you don't take like as a regular guy.
Josh:You don't take positive damage Yeah, I just want to I mean I will double check later but Yeah
Jorge:Oh, this is a very pricey stone.
Jorge:We could sell this.
Josh:Also true.
Jorge:I'll use it for now.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:So are you guys, you're just heading down the hallway?
Jorge:All right.
Josh:Like, what's the plan here?
Jorge:Yeah, let's keep hunting down.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:So as you head down, there's the door on the right that leads to a small utility area.
Josh:If you go ahead, you see it enters into a larger
Josh:Another larger room.
Josh:Which way would you like to go first?
Josh:Because I assume you're going to all of them at some point.
Josh:I guess that isn't necessarily true.
Jorge:Yeah, we'll ask him what's in these other doors.
Josh:It's just a resting area.
Noah:yeah always loot the corpse
Josh:There's another corpse if you want to raid it.
Jorge:Yeah, let's go see it, son.
Josh:All right, you guys go loot the corpse.
Josh:So you go and it's a very similar structure to the room that he had asked you to stay in the first time when you were just an old man and not an old man with three ancestors.
Josh:You don't need to do a perception check since you're rummaging through.
Josh:You can see that in this room there is a small collection of what look to be two circular things of brass with a fuse on the end of it.
Josh:In addition, in the pockets of the overalls of this guy that you're reading through, you find that there are actually two different firearm-looking devices.
Josh:One of them...
Josh:One of them kind of looks like a super soaker, almost.
Josh:It's got these big tubes on top.
Josh:The body is made out of metal, but it's got like a liquid reservoir on the top of it.
Josh:And then the other one looks a little bit like a crossbow.
Josh:It's like a long metal plank, a metal rod, with a...
Josh:like pull back string um like a metal cord that looks like it could be pulled back uh you don't actually see spot to slot an arrow uh but it looks very similar to a crossbow mechanism in that way uh all all of the items in this room that i have just noted do appear magical
Jorge:I can.
Tanner:try it try it
Jorge:Identify oh.
Mike:Are these magic, magical?
Mike:We shall identify.
Mike:I'm going to use a hero point.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:Oh.
Josh:Let's do three Arcana.
Josh:You know what?
Josh:Just do an Arcana check.
Josh:There's no point in me having you roll three 60s.
Josh:Just do it one time.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:It is funny how the deep personally said, fuck you for that role.
Josh:I cannot believe that your natural one is a 39.
Mike:Am I even... Oh, no, no, wait, hold on.
Mike:I am legendary in Arcana.
Mike:I only had two.
Mike:Yeah, I didn't like it.
Mike:48.
Josh:Is that with the additional plus two because you used your point?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Okay, so with a 48, the two metal spheres with a trigger on it are red pitch bombs.
Mike:Yep.
Josh:They get a plus three bonus on attack rolls.
Josh:They deal four fire damage, four D4 persistent fire damage, and four fire splash damage.
Josh:On a critical hit, the target is clumsy three.
Jorge:Two red pitch bombs?
Josh:Red pitch.
Josh:specifically major red pinch bombs.
Josh:In addition, the super soaker looking thing is a major cryo mister.
Josh:Basically, you turn it on, you set it down, and it just shoots out this heavy mist.
Josh:It is a 20-foot burst of mist around it.
Josh:It creates ice in the area around it.
Josh:It does cold splash damage, and it forces Acrobatics Check to move along the terrain that it creates.
Josh:It's a 20-foot burst, 39 DC Acrobatics Check, and 8 cold splash damage.
Josh:It also creates floating ice that one could stand on.
Josh:It unfortunately cannot support gargantuan creatures larger than 20 feet by 20 feet, though.
Noah:I heard a moose boar, not moose boar.
Tanner:Such as a moose boar?
Josh:Just FYI.
Josh:What?
Tanner:Like a moose boar, for example?
Josh:Yes, like a moose boar, for example.
Mike:Is it consumable?
Mike:It's a mushroom?
Josh:It is not consumable.
Josh:Oh no, it is consumable.
Josh:I apologize.
Josh:No, it's a mu-spore.
Tanner:Oh, sorry.
Josh:It's pedantic to say it like that.
Josh:It's a mu-spore.
Josh:It is consumable in that you need to remix another set of liquid to put back into the super soaker, but the super soaker itself, you have one now.
Josh:And then the final thing is a suppression range device.
Josh:It can, if you notch it, it loads an arrow that when pointed at a device building magic energy will disrupt the flow of magic energy that it hits.
Jorge:I do.
Noah:Is that last one a homebrew or is that one in...
Josh:That's all.
Mike:That's crazy too.
Mike:We could wait a hundred years and go fuck with the monks.
Tanner:I don't know if we all have a hundred years.
Jorge:I could live another 100 years, as long as the sphere is here.
Mike:Okay.
Mike:Fine.
Josh:I don't know if any of you have a hundred years.
Josh:It'd be pushing it.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:No, some of the vampires go up to 300.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:That'd be a nice 220.
Josh:It'd be pushing it.
Josh:It's fine.
Josh:You could.
Tanner:Vampires aren't immortal.
Jorge:All right.
Mike:But...
Josh:There are no beings on Althane originating from Althane that are immortal.
Jorge:Nothing else.
Tanner:Death comes for us all.
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Where else shall we go?
Jorge:Damien.
Josh:Damien will say, I mean, if you're done looting that guy's corpse, if you keep heading down the hallway, I mean, so if you head down the hallway, I think there's a bunch of pipes that you'll need to disrupt to open up the door.
Jorge:Hey.
Noah:Yeah, so...
Josh:And then you'll be in the core, which is like the power center of the area.
Josh:And then I am in a room behind the core.
Mike:to the core.
Tanner:Is the court dangerous?
Josh:Yeah, the core is where the guys that grabbed me are hanging out.
Josh:So, you know, I'd watch out.
Noah:Thank you.
Jorge:Should we rest a little bit before then, here, ancestors?
Josh:I mean, I don't mind.
Josh:I'm not going anywhere.
Jorge:Hey, Damien, what year did you go missing?
Josh:Oh, gosh, that's a good question.
Josh:I've never been particularly good with calendars.
Josh:I don't know, like 600-something?
Tanner:Well.
Jorge:You've been here a while, haven't you?
Josh:Really couldn't tell you.
Josh:The days kind of just blend together.
Josh:I know it's been longer than a week.
Jorge:What do you eat?
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:There's, like, food here.
Josh:It's actually a pretty cozy setup.
Josh:If I could show you around, I got all of these viewfinders and stuff in front of me.
Josh:I got one wall that I call the steam wall that just has a bunch of steam pipes and stuff.
Josh:Behind me is this door that I cannot get open.
Josh:And then on the other side, I've got all these cool dispensers.
Josh:It's like nutrient goo.
Josh:It's not particularly tasty, but it does sustain me.
Jorge:Hmm.
Josh:And then there's a cool little water fountain thing.
Josh:I don't even know where they get water from under lava like this, but I guess there's a spring underneath the base or something.
Jorge:Do I believe him?
Josh:I don't know.
Josh:You can roll a deception check to see if he's lying.
Jorge:Yeah, does he seem like he's lying?
Jorge:46.
Mike:That guy wouldn't lie to us.
Noah:Okay.
Josh:No, I mean, no one's lied to him, and so he would probably maintain that.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:With a 46, he sounds sincere.
Jorge:All right, we keep going.
Josh:Best you can tell he isn't lying about having a nutrient tube feeder thing.
Jorge:Hey, Henrik.
Jorge:Do you have limited amounts of times you can heal me?
Tanner:If we take time, I can do it unlimited.
Jorge:OK.
Jorge:I could use an extra 20.
Jorge:I mean, I figure, why not be healed up for going into this?
Tanner:Yeah, let me... I guess I'll just do a 10 minutes hit everybody.
Josh:Nice.
Noah:Just do it.
Mike:Sure.
Noah:Heal up.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:58?
Tanner:Is anyone not at full?
Noah:Heal up.
Noah:That's probably more than I need, but I'll take it.
Tanner:Alright, well I only needed four, so I can redirect 54 from myself to you.
Josh:I don't know if there's any way for you to not repair it, to be honest.
Tanner:Actually, do you mind returning the favor and taking a quick look at my shield?
Noah:Of course, I will take a quick look at the shield.
Tanner:The shield needs 18 hit points.
Noah:I don't know if I can physically...
Noah:I think it's repaired.
Josh:More than enough.
Noah:I think I look at it and I go, I don't see what the problem is.
Noah:And then when Henrik looks at it, it's fully repaired.
Jorge:No.
Josh:It's like when you're looking for something and you can't find it anywhere, so you call somebody else over and they just immediately pick up the thing that's directly in front of you.
Josh:It's fixed.
Josh:Can't you tell?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Anything else you guys would like to do?
Jorge:Let's keep going.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:As you head further down the hallway, you do come across another door that is blocking your path.
Josh:Over on the side, there are what looks like pipes, like you had seen in the previous doors, but there aren't valves.
Josh:Instead, there are five...
Josh:the pipes bend upward and almost act as a kind of exhaust.
Josh:You can see some steam coming out of the five pipes.
Josh:Damien will say, okay, so you need to...
Josh:block the ones that have the most steam coming through them.
Josh:The spyglass thing should tell you which one the correct one is, but the rod won't work.
Josh:You need some way of disrupting the steam flow.
Josh:It would identify the first and the third ones.
Josh:Those are both blowing.
Mike:Uh, first and the third.
Mike:What kind of garbage do I have on my person?
Mike:How much ammo does the crossbow have?
Josh:I think you could just fire that crossbow thingy you got at him.
Josh:That'll disrupt the steam.
Josh:The steam is the magic energy in this place.
Jorge:Well, let's do this.
Noah:That's ridiculous.
Mike:Wait, so is there not apparent ammo?
Mike:It just fires?
Josh:You just pull it back and an arrow appears in it.
Mike:Okay.
Mike:Divex will pull it back and fire at both of them.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:You fire at both.
Josh:There's this weird sparking sound, and the steam just stops from those two, and the door gets pushed down to reveal the next space.
Josh:As you guys look into the next space, you can see that this is a... Well, you don't deserve visibility.
Tanner:I don't have a token to give me visibility.
Jorge:Yeah, me too.
Noah:Oh, God, there's no token to give you visibility in this area.
Noah:Oh, gosh.
Mike:I have a token to give me invisibility.
Noah:That was a cool room.
Josh:You're entering from the south.
Josh:As you enter, Damien will say, Okay, so you guys have to watch out for the workers in the black suits, because those guys didn't like me, and I imagine they won't like you.
Josh:And also, I'm at the far end.
Josh:I think you might have to unlock another door at the end here.
Josh:I can't tell.
Josh:And that's where we'll end today's session.
Jorge:Might be a heart.
Noah:It's definitely decoration.
Tanner:This thing in the middle looks like a ballista.
Josh:I'm sure it's just decoration.
Josh:I mean, if there were anything in the room that would be a heart, it would just look slightly higher than the ballista-looking thing.
Noah:What is this?
Noah:What is this thing?
Josh:I don't know.
Jorge:A heart.
Josh:It's just a glowy rock.
Tanner:Can we absorb its power to become more powerful?
Noah:You know?
Mike:Yes, we'll start killing and consuming hearts.
Josh:I mean,
Mike:Oh, gosh.
Josh:You guys already know what the consequence of becoming too powerful with divine energy is.
Tanner:Yeah, but we want to be just below the threshold.
Tanner:Just below.
Jorge:Or maybe the way we will do is we'll just keep storing divine items until we're ready to do the ascension and then we'll just like mass consume.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:And then you're just gonna... I just think it would be really funny if one of you right now were to go up to it and just like take a bite out of it and that just triggers the end of the world.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Just immediately.
Noah:No.
Noah:No, I wasn't ready.
Tanner:Whoopsies.
Tanner:Damien is older than I thought he would be.
Noah:Yeah.
Noah:What is he?
Josh:He's just hanging out.
Noah:Maybe he's like a skeleton or something.
Tanner:Why has he been here for so long?
Josh:It's been at least a week.
Jorge:How many years has it been?
Jorge:What year is it?
Jorge:625?
Tanner:Isn't it like year 750 something?
Josh:The current year is 700.
Noah:Oh, well, he'd only been here for like a year if it was $6.99.
Noah:No.
Noah:Yeah.
Tanner:Okay, I thought it was a later year.
Tanner:That's on me.
Josh:No.
Josh:The campaign started in 698.
Josh:700 flat.
Jorge:So it's seven of what?
Jorge:Sorry, what was the year?
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:So he's anywhere from one to 99 years here.
Josh:Who knows?
Jorge:I guess 100.
Mike:well that's absolutely terrifying to think how he's just like oh i'm so glad to go back to the kingdom of florpswap we're just like uh
Noah:Exactly.
Josh:Hey, he could be from a previous cycle.
Josh:Maybe it was the year 600 in, like, the 32nd cycle, and he's been here a long time.
Josh:You know?
Tanner:He is so deep in that, I mean, I don't know how the 13th realm was getting to this guy.
Mike:He's like, oh, did they get overthrown or something?
Mike:We're like...
Tanner:Well, wait, you asked him if he was Oreskian, and he said he's from north of there.
Josh:No, he said he's from north of here.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Oh, okay.
Tanner:Never mind.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:Well, we know, we know, we know where that is.
Josh:So, which...
Tanner:Josh, you are smart.
Jorge:He also, when I was talking to him, I called him young man.
Jorge:He's like, you don't know how old I am.
Josh:Out of curiosity, which would be more concerning, if he said that he's actually from the Florpswap kingdom, or if he said he was from Fatcock City?
Mike:Wait.
Mike:If he's from Fatcock City, he's from the future.
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:He's from 600 of the next cycle.
Noah:Thank you.
Josh:Or, Marzo, in a previous cycle, like, on his own convergent evolution, came up with the name.
Mike:All cities eventually become Fatcock City.
Tanner:I'm just... I'm picturing a citizen of the Sundom that was writing fantasy novels.
Josh:Make sure to nurture.
Tanner:And it was such a strong passion to him that it comes through every cycle.
Josh:It could.
Noah:Everything with Badcock City.
Josh:Who knows?
Mike:An entire cinematic movie on finding the chosen one.
Mike:Every cycle, a religious group just gets dispatched to find the Fatcock City one.
Mike:The chosen one to find Fatcock City.
Josh:It happens.
Josh:You don't know.
Josh:Someone's gotta make it.
Josh:Every time.
Jorge:Guys, he has the potential to be one of the very few good people we've met.
Noah:We walk in, he's like, actually, I want to rule everything.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Yes.
Noah:Dude, we still haven't run into Paul.
Josh:Secretly, I'm actually a Reskian, which makes me evil, and I want to control the universe.
Mike:Oh, thank God you guys let me out of here.
Mike:Now I gotta go find Beast's body and start controlling the universe.
Josh:It could have.
Mike:Oh, no.
Noah:He could be running around somewhere.
Josh:That's true.
Mike:Oh, I don't like that thought.
Josh:There has been a non-negligible, like a non-zero chance of you interacting with Dahl in this campaign.
Mike:Don't remind me of that creepy man.
Jorge:Dahl's definitely in a risk.
Josh:He's around.
Josh:He's somewhere in the world.
Noah:He's behind this next door.
Josh:He's actually, he's hanging out in Yudan's orb.
Josh:He just didn't come out to greet you guys.
Mike:I got a weird feeling about these guys.
Mike:I'm not fucking saying hi.
Josh:Well, the question is, if you guys, as your characters, met Dahl, like he introduced himself as such, but did not do anything overtly evil, would you still attack him?
Jorge:Okay, but here's the thing.
Josh:Just be like, on vibes?
Tanner:How many hit points does he have compared to his max?
Mike:No.
Josh:Well, he's an old man, so...
Jorge:We definitely would, because he would insult us.
Noah:He could be.
Jorge:That man definitely wouldn't insult us.
Jorge:He can't help but insult.
Josh:Maybe he figured out that that was his problem and going forward he's become a genial old man that still wants to do some mind control.
Josh:Yeah, he could be really friendly.
Josh:He's learned.
Jorge:Yeah, he's definitely an 8-0 risk.
Josh:He is the Commandant.
Josh:He's the head of Oresk.
Noah:We don't know.
Josh:Kharkov is a false Hydra.
Mike:The worst timeline?
Jorge:Yeah, that's a really good session.
Josh:You guys are just... I like doing a good, just complete divergence from the actual plot of the game.
Noah:No.
Jorge:Oh, we understand that, Josh.
Jorge:Why do you think we don't get anything done?
Josh:Do you want me to not have these things come up?
Jorge:No.
Josh:Do you want it to be just point B, nothing in the middle?
Mike:No, no.
Mike:We also...
Jorge:No.
Mike:we also like these i'm so glad that we're just like the the grandpa voice worked and we're like it we're just gonna roll with this the whole way through i can cast invisibility sphere again by the way
Tanner:Yeah.
Noah:We can ban it.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:I don't understand why it's still happening.
Tanner:Major credit to Jorge for the performance this episode.
Josh:But you do.
Jorge:There's no doubt.
Josh:You've already established that the old man has the ability to summon his ancestors.
Josh:You can really just stick around.
Mike:yeah but yeah but making them permanent is like a whole different thing um oh you look great i didn't realize you were in here yeah when he started like he started like with the skeleton
Josh:So far it's been ten minutes.
Tanner:I still think that my favorite line was, where are you, should I shake your hand?
Josh:I know.
Tanner:No, before that, Jorge, oh, should I shake your hand?
Jorge:Thank you, thank you.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:I was trying to channel my old man.
Tanner:He's such a polite old man.
Josh:Flight old man who just appeared in this underground lair.
Tanner:you
Mike:I used to be a boxer, don't worry.
Jorge:He's got this massive sword and then materializes blood armor and then has his ancestors.
Jorge:Burex and Burex and Burex.
Josh:Yeah, it's Burek and then Bureksen and Bureksensen.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:And you're Bureksensensen.
Noah:Wait, no, isn't it, it starts at Bjergsen's grandfather and then the great-grandfather and the great-great-grandfather.
Tanner:Which is how he introduced himself.
Josh:Yeah, so it's Bureksensensen.
Mike:Okay.
Josh:Except I don't think it works like that.
Josh:I think it's just Bjergsen again.
Josh:So dumb.
Jorge:Yeah, I introduced myself as Bjergsen.
Noah:Bjergsen.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:I am Bjergsen.
Josh:Either way, does next Monday work?
Tanner:Yeah.
Jorge:It's a holiday.
Josh:What holiday?
Josh:I don't know.
Jorge:Isn't it?
Noah:Really?
Jorge:A long weekend.
Tanner:Oh, I don't think I'm off.
Noah:Do you just have a long weekend?
Tanner:It's a Google holiday.
Jorge:I... No.
Josh:Next Monday, November 11th.
Noah:It's better.
Noah:11-11.
Jorge:No holiday.
Noah:It's a nice day.
Mike:It's the first day of...
Josh:It's Veterans Day.
Jorge:I don't even know if I have it off.
Jorge:I just know I'm going to a bachelor party this weekend and I'm not staying on that Monday.
Jorge:Yeah.
Noah:See you all on Veterans Day.
Tanner:Alright.
Josh:Well, Veterans Day it is.
Josh:Adios.
Jorge:Oh, yes.
Tanner:Goodnight.
